Do you have all of those patterns in your head? Do you make it up as you go along? I don't want to overanalyze, but, I'm new to tangling and I never think of what to put in spaces. I do my own version of the short videos on KZbin (like this one). As with the other video I commented on, I love the fountain pen and the color!

I've practiced a lot of these tangles many times over the last 10 years or so. They are some of my favorites. And I've created a catalog of tangles that I've tried over the years that I can look back to for reference when I'm thinking about what to draw next. Another thing that I've done is made a sheet of 20 tangles of different types and numbered them 1-20. Then I take a 20-sided dice and roll it to pick the next tangle I'm going to use. Takes the decision making out of the process. KZbin is a great resource for finding new patterns and how to draw them. Tanglepatterns.com is also great for finding tangle pattern step-outs. Taking a class with a Certified Zentangle Teacher can help too. I offer classes over zoom. Happy Tangling!
