For those who have said this is too fast i'm sorry. I didn't think many people would want to watch a 30min video which is what it would have been minimum if i'd done it at normal speed.. It is more meant to be a meditative thing of watching a drawing progress than necessarily educational. If i do more videos in the future though i'll look into slowing down a little bit at the beginning of each tangle pattern before going back to speed so you can all learn. Thanks for all the positive comments though! I will also try and work out a better camera angle. It is actually kind of difficult to set that up in a way my hand doesn't cover and this was my first attempt at this kind of video.

Hi, I just discovered Zentangle a few minutes ago. This is great! I like the structure but I also like the overall asymmetrical design - it's like a combination of symmetry and asymmetry. Your video is great! thanks - I am going to do this. I love shape and this method should satisfy that.

I found the video very relaxing and like a story being told. It felt it was a story being told and than it did unfold to something very creative and interesting, It was beautiful and I wasn't disapointed either the end of the video when the flowers were done was spectacular! Creatation isn't something you can rush. I don't understand how com everything has to be done so fast, The video was not to slow, in fact it capture your attention and it was so beautiful the time felt that it went by so fast. It kind of made me sad that it was over. The music was just blended very well! Thank you so much for the experience of watching something unfold in such a beautiful creation! Very well done!

I really like your art and hope you produce more. If you do, I think a camera angle from your left or over your shoulder would be better as I spent most of this one wishing I could see through your hand. Again, beautiful work...and thanks.

No..the speed is fine...I only discovered Zentangle a week ago , watched and read lots , just got my kit and started to draw and I totally get everything you did....recognised many of the Tangles you used....very, very helpful in showing how you cab produce something lovely by absorbing a few techniques.

Finding art intimidating, I have been going at my leisure through a book called One Zentangle A Day. When I go back to what I have done I look at it with amazement that I did Art!!! However I find the aspect of making strings overwhelming and uncomfortable and seems burdomsome to my healing mind as I am not used to drawing or of free forms. Your using circles was like a relief and so comforting. And when you began with a pattern I had done and there were some I recognized it was like a comfort and familiarity and a connection between us somehow. I love nature and become ill when I am away from it and your adding stems and leaves to your art also was very comforting and soothing to me. Music is very interesting, if there are injuries inside of us, known or unknown sometimes it brings them out to heal. Sometimes that which is at first uncomfortable or irritating can one day become beautiful and perfect. I hope to further look at your work. I found it through LisaEDesign while looking at string embroidery instruction as my mom had told me she had a class with some ladies from her community group and I wanted to find out about different pads used for piercing the paper before stitching. Thank you for your sharing. Brenda Lee Sawich

just 2B pencil and i think at the time was using a 0.3 size felt tip black pen. But i would recommend getting them in different thicknesses like 0.1 to 0.5 ish for more detail which is what i would do now - back when i made this video years ago i didn't any proper art supplies at all this was just regular office stationary.

@FernJuice8 жыл бұрын
+Debi Moniz thank you very much. It is probably easier than you think. This was one of my first ever zentangle drawings and I have no prior artistic practice. If you look up www.tangle patterns.com you'll find instructions for lots of different patterns and then just fill spaces with them. It is all one line at a time which is what is great about zentangle. Also it is about the process not how good the finished product is so - very meditative :) Good luck!

What pen should i use for doing this on canvas ??
@FernJuice8 жыл бұрын
Something like a sharpie. You want a permanent marker with a fine nib. If your canvas is a bit textured then probably a thicker nib (size 05 or something) will be better than a super fine one. Get some different thicknesses though if you can as your work will then end up with more depth if you vary the thickness and level of detail within the different patterns you use. Good Luck!

Is it the same Zentangled art and Doodle?
@FernJuice8 жыл бұрын
+Yuliana veras Not quite. Zentangle is technically a meditative practice and there are alot of rules about what it is and isn't and the types of patterns you can use. see www.zentangle.com Zentagle Inspired Art (ZIA) is more flexible and considered any art that is inspired by the types of patterns you get in Zentangle. Normally for example Zentangle would never be done to produce something that is recognisable eg a flower or animal etc where as because there are no real rules in ZIA that is ok. I don't think there is really a formal definition of the word doodle - i think it has been around far longer than Zentangle as a concept and could mean all sorts of different things. Zendoodle is just a word i put in the title as i know so people use it to search for this kind of thing. Because my picture is a flower and some of the patterns i made up rather than being official Tangle patterns my picture would have to be called Zentangle inspired Art. Hope that helps!
