Zenyatta - 2010 Vanity Handicap

The remarkable Zenyatta stands alone. Thrilling another crowd with her spine-tingling late charge, the undefeated mare nabbed a determined St Trinians by a half-length for her 17th consecutive victory in the June 13 Vanity Handicap (gr. I) at Hollywood Park.
This was the 6-year-old champion's unprecented third straight win in the Vanity, and by far her most exciting.
The victory moves her past Citation, Cigar and Mister Frisky for the most consecutive wins in modern times in races not restricted to state breeds.
Jockey Mike Smith had to ask her for something extra as she charged toward the wire. She trailed St Trinians by 2 1/2 lengths at the eighth pole and her rival wasn't giving in. But Zenyatta surged under right-handed encouragement from Smith as they approached the wire to collect her record victory.

@Willyrooster, as of right now, Zenyatta hasn't avoided Rail Trip. I read an article on a racing web-site just this morning that stated Zenyatta's connections are very seriously considering the Hollywood Gold Cup for her next race. If Zenyatta goes to the HGC, she'll definitely meet Rail Trip there. Rail Trip would be a very dangerous competitor for her to try and beat, too. As well as Quality Road and Blame race over conventional dirt. Rail Trip races equally well on synthetics. He'd be tough.

Mitchell was "Juicing" quite a bit and especially that meet.. Zenyatta beat a horse that was completely cranked up on steroids ,clem and probably other stuff as well..I was betting Mitchells horses BLIND that meet.. I didn't care how bad they looked on paper.. If he took over the training i was betting his horses and they were winning at a crazy win pct.... You knew something was up when you looked at the odds for the race.. St. Trinians got bet down to 2-1 against ZENYATTA! Your going to take only 2-1 against an undefeated breeders cup champion that looked like a million bucks on the track? Only if you know your trainer is cheating and the horse is juiced.......Zenyatta ran HUGE to beat that horse..
