Emperor William But Videl was a crime fighter. She had a duty to do and a city to protect. If anything her ass whooping should've made her more motivated to get as strong as Gohan. Or at least teach her to not get so full of herself.

Toon Trooper It's not like she gave up crime fighting immediately after Buu, she does end up becoming the Saiyawoman. Not to mention having a kid changes a person, makes them want to keep themself safe so they can raise and keep their kid safe. she can't take care of her kid if she ends up running into another spopovich while crime fighting now can she. also, with krillin being a cop, not much need for anyone else to deal with street crime.

i like videl cause shes cute fits the group well is a nice wife and can kick ass is tough but she kinda is a bitch in the saiyaman saga so I don't get why people love her in that arc outside of her ponytails...shes nosy...like a total tsundere without really being one at least according to her she isnt interested in gohan that way so we have to buy it without really getting her true feelings on him since she claims she just wants to know his secret... but since it just her persona in that arc I guess fine and when she has a man she stops acting that way like all teens I assume in japan that act bitchy in school cause they aren't allowed to openly date in 90's japan so they cant wait till they get to be 18 and out of high school where their allowed to be more open about it since high school dating is frowned upon...then when they do find a man they lose their rebellious attitude they become total subservient housewife full of smiles and loving...that's not a bad thing but I would like to see videl fight like she did in a few films ...she fought broly...like wheres that videl?..cant she still be happy loving but at least try to fight?..shes not bulma...come on now..chi chi is the medium since she only fights when she has to but videl likes to fight...what happened to her training?>.shes satans daughter after all...

The CVR123 It was a few extra panels with Goku and Uub as they departed from the tournament. At the very end was a agitated looking Vegeta declaring that he will one day surpass Kakarot. Something to that effect if I remembered correctly.

I find it funny that pretty much any time I hear someone talk about the Buu Saga, they either haven't seen the entire thing, or they saw it once and only once 10 years ago lol. It's like this heaping enigma of the fanbase. I'm sure a big part of why it wasn't as bad for Zeon this time around is because it was the Kai version; shorter, more condensed, with the stupid shit dragging on for less time. Also, he was right about that scene with the villains in Hell making no sense, since it had Goz and Mez acknowledging filler that was cut from Kai. Plus it further cemented the fact that Super doesn't fit into any continuity. (not that it did to begin with) As for which is better between this and the Android Saga, I'd say the Android Saga because its problems are less glaring, it's less frustrating to watch, it isn't as long, and it keeps Goku out of the spotlight for the majority of it. However, I'd say the Buu Saga has more high points/memorable moments holding it together. And it has Great Saiyaman, which is best Gohan. But it also has Ultimate Gohan, which is worst Gohan. And that's the thing; the Buu Saga has so many good things in it that I have to disagree when people say the series should've ended after the Cell Saga, but some of the stuff in it is just irritating and makes me question whether or not it's all worth it. Anyway, it happened. But now we can all pretend GT's ending is the canonical ending to DB. And the franchise was never added to again (:

Liked ^. I concur, although I hold a more positive view on the Cell Arc then what you, Born2Run, Zeon, Mistare Fusion and others have. I think it does a good job exploring several themes such as the role of fate and the individual, the father-son relationships, tragedy in the true shakespearean sense, etc. Moments like Trunks showing up, Gohan achieving both SSJ1 and SSJ2, Cell's introduction & absorption of the androids and cell's defeat among others were highly memorable. I don't entirely agree the Buu Arc has more of these, although both have aspects of them that have an enduring appeal. I don't think either is trash, as some might (harsh view), although are relatively inferior arcs. But unlike Super, they meaningfully contributed to the story and allowed for some fantastic character development (namely Vegeta and Gohan.) I agree with Zeon, the Buu arc is the worst arc between DB, DBZ and DBGT. However, I would award it a decent 5/10.

Despite how I came across, I really do like the Android Saga, at least a little more than Zeon seems to. ^^; I like it more as a whole as opposed to the Buu Saga, which I enjoy certain pieces of. One of the issues I recently noticed (with the Android Saga) is how the focus on Gohan kinda comes out of the blue. The arc didn't have much to do with him until the whole Cell Games thing. It doesn't really bother me, just something that dawned on me. What do you think? :o

That is a very good observation, and the arc would have been significantly better if the focus on Gohan came around the time Cell was introduced and Goku was sick. That said, I do not think it was done too bad; the Cell Arc was one of the only times Gohan and Goku spent bonding after Raditz showed up. The only other time I recall was when they were training in the three year time skip but Goku shared Gohan with Piccolo :P I REALLY enjoyed Goku and Gohan in the room of spirit and time. The time together was developing their relationship significantly, with Goku too seeing the potential for Gohan to ultimately defeat Cell. That said, Gohan's set up came from his incident with Raditz onward and it felt like the Cell Arc didn't force Gohan in an unexpected position for pure fan service. An example of such a thing would be Toppo & Vegeta in the latest episode... If only that had set up other then their brief skirmish mid-way through the ToP. If that was the case, the message of EP 126 would have been more pronounced. On another note, I really enjoyed Gohan's episodes just before the Cell Games. Sorry for my rambling ^_^ To sum up, I agree with you!

I think the reason Super Buu becomes Kid Buu with the loss of Fat Buu is because Fat Buu had all the Kaioshin that were absorbed inside **his** body. They weren't connected to Super Buu, only Fat Buu. Thus, when he gets ripped out, all their influence goes out with him, resulting in a return to the original form of Kid Buu. The forms that Buu took when he absorbed the Kaioshin were the big buff Buu, and Fat Buu. Super Buu himself is a unique form altogether that resulted from the unexpected occurrence of Fat Buu expelling his evil into the form of Gray Buu and then being eaten by the Gray Buu, hence why Super Buu bares more resemblance to Gray Buu than any other form. The evil of Gray Buu also presumably diluted the influence of the Kaioshin within Fat Buu, since otherwise he would have eaten Fat Buu and just become Fat Buu again, lol. Now why didn't Super Buu become Gray Buu after losing all that influence? Because Toriyama's editor was out to lunch. If I were to theorize, though, I'd say that Gray Buu just ceased to exist after the absorption. They'd become one being again, and thus all the usual rules of absorption applied. Gray Buu was just that one exception, given that he's such a weird anomaly to begin with. ......but fuck all that, all that really matters is that short-haired Videl is best Videl, and Gohan and Videl running around as Saiyaman 1 and 2 is the cutest thing ever.

If i were to try and rationalize the progression of Buu's forms heres the best I could do: Fat Buu expels specifically just the evil inside himself which manifests itself as Grey Buu. The reason its not Kid Buu is because Fat Buu only expelled the pure concentrated evil, not whatever physiological makeup would be involved in Kid Buu. Grey Buu absorbing Fat Buu causes him to gain whatever physiology would be needed for Grey Buu to become Kid Buu, but because Fat Buu has the Grand Supreme Kai in him, that influence prevents Kid Buu being able to manifest and instead we get Super Buu. Once Fat Buu is detached from inside of Super Buu, the influence of the Grand Supreme Kai is removed and so Kid Buu is finally able to appear.

Funny that they didn't bring up that Piccolo, Roshi and Tien could have the Mafuba for Buu? They don't even bring it up as an option to defeat a demon who's whole concept was about being sealed. I think you will like Gogeta in GT more in terms of being entertaining. He one sided gag fight isn't dragged out and it gets series about the end. Though there are other problems in that arc that make it disappointing. Especially the plot convinience for the first 2 dragons defeat. But I bet aggro will dislike it more than Super if he were to watch it.

Bladehero the arc came out around the time that DB wasn't Super and using it without interruption still resulted in someone dying. Super changed that and made most life threatening attacks similar to how they are in the video games.

Also, while Vegito is just a cocky asshole, I think he's fun to watch and his fight was kinda cool, at least. He's such an arrogant prick, I love him. That said, I'm not sure he lives up to the hype he has built up from being the single strongest character in the original 42 volumes of the manga and supposedly perfect fusion. He faces the least interesting form of Buu, could easily kill him any time and wish Gohan & co. back w/ the DBs, and so soon after the last couple one-sided ass kickings, his battle can be somewhat tiresome, especially when binge-watching like you 2 did. *shrug* It's better than what Super did with him

It's that contrived writing; Vegetto suffers from it more than any other character. He's practically the perfect example of a character who more of a tool for the plot than an legit character. But, I do think Super Buu is the best Buu for him to fight. You get more of his personality just from watching him taunt Super Buu who reacts as a regular villain would.

I have a theory as to how buus regeneration works. I think his regeneration works like he can regenerate from pretty much anything but his regeneration only kicks in after the damage has ceased. In other words if you continually attack him his regeneration well not kick in until the attacking has stopped. cuz I can't remember one time where he regenerates in between attacks.

I liked this Arc the most honestly. I liked the Great Saiyaman stuff and the World Tournament with Videl getting crushed and Gohan rages. Then the Arc kinda trails off with the three stages stuff that isn't *too* bad if you binge it but no show should really be structured like that. Then the Arc just completely drops for me except for Vegeta's Final Atonement and Goku's SSJ3 until it gets to Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks Vs. Super Buu. I know this makes it seem like I only care about the action but the talking stuff for me just always kinda felt boring. I also like this Arc more because I like Adult Gohan more than Teen Gohan. Edit: before I get murdered for my opinion I actually liked all the other Arcs as well but for me I personally like being the most updated if that makes any sense. Like I don't really like the Saiyan Arc as much because of how much lower their power is now.... Although of course I could always watch any of Goku's Tournament fights any day. The Cell arc was good too but I can't really take Cell to seriously as a villain. Frieza was a good villain but his Arc lasted WAY too long in both Z and Super. Ironically RF is probably the shortest Arc in Super. I feel like I'm forgetting something but oh well

The Super Buu part is strange. To me it would make sense, if the original Buu was kid Buu but after eating the fat Kai, he became fat and somewhat good. Eventually fat buu releases the evil grey buu, they fight, evil wins and so he becames kid buu again as the fat/kai got suppressed.

It's always bothered me so much that at the end of the Buu saga, after they start using the dragon balls Goku and Vegeta keep struggling to find a way to kill Buu. They all forget about Gohan. Kid Buu didn't absorb anyone and was most likely not as strong as super Buu. So why didn't Goku just go get Gohan?!? He could have stomped Kid Buu in about 2 seconds! IDFK

Dabura is only in heaven in the anime. In the manga he never shows up again after he died. Toei being almost as bad as toriyama forgot that goku only kept his body because Kami pulled some strings so he can get stronger and be revived with the dragonballs. In the anime everyone gets a body because why not

I like this arc just because they tried something different and there's lots of different ideas, there's some lore expansion but it's a contrived saga continuation, again it's because they made the arc and then didn't like the direction they had taken. That said if you strip the Cell saga down, that saga is awful. The cell saga is over-over-rated, the 80's sci fi violence, the ties with the RR, the whole look, particularly the mechanical designs of the 19 and 20 and also the over designed Cell, are pretty much everything. From when Vegeta allows Cell to devour the androids, it's a drag. In the end the story is really a repetition of their typical arc construction, above all the final stage is just stupid Also Cell is a cool design but one that makes no sense, it's really complicated which is why it looks so good but -that makes the design ilogical. As the androids evolve they became more biological, with Cell being the most evolved and the most versatile. Cell is a conglomerate of strong fighters dna, he does start to look more and more evolved after metamorphosis, but then it stops, why the tail?, why the armour? And why does he regenerate OP style. Buu is a simple design and he's fat but he's a good simple design.

There's a lot of green but they don't "fix it" on blu ray. A lighten version of the original. Colder temperature, more blue, less saturation and a bit like modern DB, the big problem with HD is over-sharpening, of the line work. Checking out BR comparisons, it looks like every other colour is wrong. Goku's gi coincidently matches the manga as it's a lighter tone, it's not necessarily the green that's different, everything is colder temp, everything is bluer. Maybe BR is compensating for modern tv's lack of deep blues. Who knows. ONE PIECE!

None of these stuff is really necesary to enjoy this arc, nor it should bother you that much unless you're expecting some high narration shit from a fucking shonen series. About all these inconsistencies or coincidences, you can think it the other way around. The fact that the egg was on Earth was what attracted so many powerful and miystical beings to Earth. Majin buu's egg attracted energy after all (at least absorbed it). Babidi, being a wizard, could have used some sort of divination to know when was the best moment to revive buu, or maybe the reunion of these guys on earth helped him find the egg or something. The diferent forms of buu were just buu reshaping his inner self, and super buu desire for fighting was driven by his pride after realizing the amount of powerful people around him, if buu was a child super buu was more like a teenager. Piccolo didn't know about th fusion dance. He just referred to namekian fusion (assimilation) that he used a couple of times. The characters themselves made dumb and contrived decisions, but all the z fighter were very prideful since at that point they have proven to be some of the most powerful beings on the universe and taking things lightly was part of their character. The whole character shifting and assimilating during the middle was a bit silly, but the first time you watched it, it was really amazing; the characters becoming stronger and stronger until the only people present were so powerful that shattered reality itself. If you know how it will end probably isn't the most endearing thing, but most media becomes less powerful if you already know how it ends. Vegetto didn't kill buu because he wanted to rescue the other characters, wich might sound dumb, but at that point they didn't know if they would have been able to revive someone assimilated like that. The real stupid thing was that during the whole kid buu fight, nobody thought to go and get Gohan to fight him. He was dead yes, but so was Vegita and it didn't bother him. I guess if something isn't explained or appears contrived you can just assume is a coincidence, but if that's the case then overanalysing something with a more shallow nature like this would be pointless. Is more about the tone of the entertainment, plotholes and inconsistecies are part of dragon ball and is part of what makes it so unpredictable and fun.
