Babcock & Wilcox in Brunswick Georgia had a multi hanger facility built in 1893 & our historical society has numerous photos of U. S. Airships & German Zepplins being built side by side from 1896-1912.

Nice Video, the main reason for the floating zeppelin hangar on the water was the posibility to turn the front into the direction of the wind.

I like how even the very first model LZ1 alredy had a tribute to the future best band ever in it's name. Speaking of names, AßMAN is a fantastic one :D

I love these German history videos. It's so hard to find in-depth unbiased videos on German war history, and it's refreshing to watch your productions. There were heros and great feats done on both sides, but you normal only hear about one side.

There’s no way you can escape the shadow of the most evil German of all though. And by this, I mean Kaiser Wilhelm.

I think David Schwarz shall be mentioned here, who was at the same time also developing a rigid airship, and it is still unsure if Zeppelin simply bought his design to build his own. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Schwarz_(aviation_inventor)

Count Zeppelin was a driven man, who because of his belief in himself finally achieved(and this is weir I digress from the producer of this vlog)his Notoriety in Europe is because he created the Monster of Aerial bombing, At least Alfred Nobel the Inventor of Dynamite, tried to make reparation for his discovery

NASA....Wirlds biggest consumer of helium.....Space shuttle external fuel tank ='s helium filled blimp. Satellites ='s Satelloons/hellium filled balloons with transmitting devices suspended below. As for the space shuttle external tank blimp..... 8:26 minute mark says it all.

I wonder if climate change would still be an issue today if we had all kept working on airships? We could use them to supplement shipping/delivery where ocean liners, semi trucks(lorys), & planes are used. Sure, it must be difficult to improve upon, but it can't be as difficult as landing on the moon; we as a species can accomplish great things with enough time and passionate minds.

It seems they became obsolete once the world realized it wasnt good for combat anymore. The danger of it is merely an obstacle to overcome and shouldnt be something to stop it, the modern Zeppelin's have come such a long way but they could have been much better and put to good use if people weren't afraid.
