I have searched through the whole internet and lucky me found your video. My CEM25 RA axis is wobbly. Even though it is slightly different, the solution is the same. Thank you so much for sharing the information!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing this helpful experience!I'm not using ZEQ25 but it is very hepful for fine tuning my ES PMC-8 mount (the backlash of both axis are unacceptable now...) Nice job!

thanks for all your tips by the way, good things you are experienced enough to get out of trouble when you encounter problems... not like me!

Hi Paul: As a new ZEQ 25 owner, these videos are terrific! Thanks for all your time and energy to put them together. You apologized for your lighting and I thought I would offer this suggestion for any future videos you might do indoors. B&H Photo, and maybe your local camera store, sells a 700 watt Smith-Victor quartzlight for about $80. You will need an inexpensive light stand to hold it up. What you do is bounce it off a ceiling or wall, and you will get very soft light from the side or above to illuminate the inner parts of some of these mounts when disassembling them. The light is HOT so don't get it too close to walls or ceilings, but I think you might be pleased at how you will be able to illuminate the part of the mount you are photographing. Thanks again for all your time in making these GREAT instructional videos!

Hi Paul thanks for this amazing video! I opened up my zeq25gt and did exactly the things you showed in the video. But that doesn't fix my RA freeplay. I went on further and realized my problem actually lies with the loose Allen nut in the RA ring gear and the black fastener which is not tighten against the ring gear. Your video helped me in opening up the whole thing!

Paul, my first go through of this left my mount worse than I started, but I think I found the error. Even though you show using only the shim (your metal ruler) and the tension adjust screw, it seems you were saying you could use the screw with the spring and ball, which is what I did. It doesn't work. Apparently it wants to get seated properly in the way you show - a flat surface contacting the worm assembly and the flat suface of the tension screw (no spring, no ball). I did it again like that, and it works like a charm. Unfortunately I did notice (as I completely removed the worm housing for the end play adjustments), that my gear has chewed sections from the times it was skipping out of lock-up. I removed the metal shavings, and used some high end grease (actually firearm slide-glide) and reassembled. Hopefully ioptron will provide replacement parts, not too expensive. it would be better if they had a precision steel toothed gear, rather than the aluminum. Aluminum is TOO brittle for this application. Thanks again!

You weren't kidding about putting that little belt back on...

This video mostly applies to CEM25, and luckily CEM25 is straight forward due to the way the motor is mounted differently.

when you put back the belt on the pulley, is it critical to place it exactly where is was before(apply paint on pulley and belt before disassembly and align afterward) or can the software compensate for whatever error we introduce?

Where did you get the inner springs that you mention in these videos?
