Josh is the best sidemen because as a 27 year old fan for years, I have gotten older and much prefer the more chill gaming videos that aren’t super exaggerated and “loud”.

Resident Evil is unironically such a great fit for Josh lol. Very linear focused game with heavy emphasis on looting and some clever puzzle designs. Hope u enjoy this game and make sure u play Resident Evil Village afterwards as well whenever u get the chance since it is the direct follow up sequel story wise to RE 7 (some of the RE games are very loosely connected story wise and others are directly connected like RE 2 --> RE 4, RE 7 --> RE Village, etc.)

@@JAW760 Nah, he has mentioned TLOU 2 plenty of times. He's waiting for the PC release to come out, which will be in April, so he will be playing TLOU2 then.

I only brought up Village to mention that it is the direct continuation of this game's story

Yeah but if he don't know anything about them it'd be best to start on 1... to ge the story line of the virus and what not. I'm not well versed on it but know the info you find in the games I believe explain everything about the virus and how it got to this point. About the company umbrella etc.

@ resident evil has been around since the 90’s on most consoles. It’s a zombie franchise and movies too. This game was the first to really go in this direction as there was complaints it got too action based and not horror survival, so they tried something different and done an excellent job. This game is great and Resident Evil 8 is too. But resident evil 1,2,3 and 4 still clears. You should watch play throughs of them!

Unexpected but excited to see you finish. RE7 was a great revival of the franchise when RE games became complacent. It was a revealed as the first first-person title of the franchise back in 2016 and it was a really exciting and refreshing game by Capcom at the time. RE2 remake is a great follow up to continue playing RE games while still having a fresh new experience. Glad you’re enjoying it already Josh, especially since survival horror is Capcom’s forte.

Very rare that you see someone play this who has zero resident evil knowledge/experience! Looking forward to seeing what you think about it! This was the first one that took the resident evil game series in a different direction gameplay wise and you'll be pleased to know that you don't need to know/understand all the lore to appreciate the game. There are nods to the resi evil lore throughout (mainly in letters/notes) that link this game to the previous ones - but nothing that will make the game less enjoyable 😊
