Mesmerising. Play this one day at a railway station and send a thousand weary people on their way with tears in their eyes, seeing everything differently and glad to be alive. You are your art are exactly why there is no wealth but life.

I’ve been doing some thinking recently about this channel and a thought popped into my mind overnight. It’s been a really interesting journey sharing my love of the piano with everyone all over the world. It still trips me out that I spend an afternoon recording a track (it has to be the afternoon for those curious about the process, as the piano is lit by natural light - it’s best between 1pm - 4pm in the room that I’m recording in), sitting by myself in front of a piano in my music school, and that people from all over the world get to experience a very private moment of my creative process. What I find particularly interesting though is when I listen back to these interpretations, there’s a pretty strong disconnect between playing/recording the tracks and hearing them back. Without a drop of ego, I personally enjoy listening to these tracks either late at night to help me fall asleep, occasionally in the morning when I wake up to find some more motivation about working on my Radiohead songbook, but my favourite time would definitely be when I’m travelling, especially in airports or on planes, and also on public transport. As there are a lot of returning subscribers and listeners on this channel, my question to you is this: Where and when do you listen to these tracks? What are you doing? Working? Studying? Travelling? Eating breakfast? Passing out? What time of day is it? What do you see? How does it make you feel? I’d be very curious to hear your thoughts, so hit me up. As always, thanks for supporting the channel and for incorporating this music into your lives. Man, the internet blows my mind sometimes x

Josh Cohen Very great playing here, Josh. I love listening to this and others mostly while relaxing completely by myself, usually late at night and into the early morning. I rarely fall asleep with music on, but when I do, this is in the rotation. Another time that I use these is when I am out on a walk but at those times I listen to anything at all, not just this.
@VGPbr7 жыл бұрын
Hi Josh! I usually listen to your tracks at night just after I get home from work here in Brazil. Love them all! It inspires me to keep trying to learn to play my piano well - currently I suck at it. But keep going man! Maybe some day I will catch up and will be able to carry the torch. Thank you!

You are so emotionally aware. It's an incredible sight. Not many people have the talent to be this insightful and understanding of emotion and everything it entails. You pull it out in its entirety in every cover you do. You really are a masterpiece.

that's what I'm talking about! You should do a Portishead cover...perhaps 'Roads' on a Rhodes piano?
@joshcohenmusic7 жыл бұрын
I thought about recording this track on my Rhodes, but didn't want to change the format too drastically. I've also had a look at Roads recently and it does kinda translate but also kinda doesn't. Probably need to spend a little bit more time thinking of a way to make it sound a little more interesting.

Can I just say that your music is awesome? My 21 yo son, a huge RadioheadHead, turned me onto you RH covers, and they've been living in my head on an endless loop over the past week, seeping deeply into the screenplay I'm writing. And not just the RH material, but everything. I looped your cover of "Breathe" for a good three hours in a row this evening. Thank you for these gifts to all of us.

I have two music groups that I consider as my favorites: Radiohead and Zero 7. I fell in love with your covers of the first one, and you just can't imagine how I was exited when I saw this cover in my youtube news feed... I hate asking this, I really hate, because you are the master of your work and I don't have to tell you what to do, but do more covers of Zero 7 pleaaaaaaase!!

@NemiXisRevo7 жыл бұрын
What about Somersault? the final part of the song (when it goes instrumental) covered on piano can be really beautiful! To my opinion this special part of the song is the most significant, emotional and minimalistic work that they achieved. (There's also Speed Dial no.2, Red Dust or Polaris that can be really awesome on piano, or Home as someone in the comments said) But you're the master of your work after all, I know that you will know what song is the best to work on, I just give you some ideas! You really do an awesome work dude, I am really amazed!

Ok, guess I’m late to the game here. I’m just now finding you. This Zero 7 cover is literally perfection. Absolute perfection. VK has a few that are nearly perfect too, but that silly Roland doesn’t compare to an actual piano. Listening on KZbin isn’t an audiophile’s dream in terms of quality, but you obviously invested in good recording equipment. Thanks. Listening through HD 650s with a good amp is a great experience. Guess I’m about to learn a lot more about Radiohead piano covers...

The magic begins at 3:19 and then escalates to a whole other level at 4:43. There is no sheet music for jazz. Jazz is improvised, by definition. The pianist, the piano and the reverberated sound waves are one and the same, with sheet music put to the side by the Muse.
