Riiighhht? I love this project... I have made this case for many people over the years (but with fabric) and I just had to share this with all of you because I had been doing loads of experiments with plastic recently. Thanks for being here, watching and showing your support for the channel - always love seeing you A-cat! Have a great holiday season.

What a unique project! I think it’s great and I love your tutorial. Using the mesh bag to create a pattern in the plastic material is genius. Perhaps colored strips or motifs could be used between layers of clear/translucent plastic to make different decorative patterns in the material. Thanks for the video and for the pattern! Having said that, I have enough trouble with applying zippers in the best of times so I think I’m going to save this cutie for the new year when I’m not under pressure. 😉 But it is definitely going in my planned projects list.

Thank you Renee! You are so right about plastic being a versatile material, you can most definitely use plastic to create shapes and colourful motifs - I have experimented with plastic extensively over the last couple years and I love the results.... and potential that could come out of "just going for it". That brings me so much joy that you loved this tutorial and you are going to put the pattern to use (if you need to put a seam on the bottom of the case, this might help with the construction of the zipper ) - keep me updated on your progress. Happy holidays!

What a fun idea! But I live in upstate NY where everyone has done away with plastic bags. But I'm drowning in paper bags. Any fun ideas for those? We have to pay $0.5 for each bag, so I don't want to just recycle them.

Thank you! I get it, many people are reducing the plastic bags. However, even if I try to not have plastic around (I always carry a canvas bag with me whenever I go out) there just always is at least a few packages here and there around my house that have plastic. I have tried this with coffee packages, mailers (you know, when you order something online and it is shipped with those thick plastic bags), and bubble wrap. I am sure you could make something out of the paper bags you have tho... I have tried sewing paper and it works well. In fact, there is an old Japanese tradition of paper garments. Thanks for being here and supporting the channel.
