What those two pilots did was the epitome of worksmanship. This don't come in a day. To make decisions, to defy the ATC at that situation requires tremendous knowledge, experience, courage and stature. High respect for those two men and zem tv too for bringing out their story.

Hats off to such a brave pilot and the captain holding the plane in high esteem and didn't allow it to sink. It was all because of his intellect. The maintenance engineer who replaced and fixed the component of some other plane in this resultant plane should be held responsible and all his pre-retiral benefts siezed to teach a lesson to others.

Almost similar condition was faced by my son who was flying from Bombay to Calcutta about four years ago and was about to land at Calcutta airport but was told by ground staff to not to land there because of thick clouds and busy airport. He was told to go to Guahati airport but when he went there they also refused he went back to Calcutta. They refused again. He went to Guahati again they also refused him second time. He checked the fuel for Calcutta flight and it was only for three minutes He took the decision to land at Guahati itself and told the staff to his decision but they were not willing because lights were not visible on the ground to help for landing. He proceeded with his decision and made a successful landing with his staff and about 175 passengers in the dark. They learnt about it next morning
