I randomly came across this interview. It's refreshing to see an interview that sounds like a natural conversation. Gary is wonderfully open and honest.

Loved this guy since 79. Met him a few times along with his wife Gemma and you couldn’t meet two nicer friendlier people. So happy Gary is once again enjoying the success he thoroughly deserves

I discovered Gary Numan in the early 2000s, thanks to The Rentals and NIN. Once I discovered Gary, I backfilled my catalog with everything I missed out on up until then. It's amazing. Numan is a true musical pioneer. Yes, there was a tough stretch between Metal Rhythm and Sacrifice, but he came out stronger, and he really rediscovered his voice on Sacrifice, IMHO. As Gary mentions Gemma was an essential catalyst in that process, and I'm thankful to her as well. She saw what Gary had lost sight of, and I'm thankful she brought him around. Thank you so much, Gemma! Both of you are amazing, honestly. I worry I'm being reductionist. I'm only commenting on what I can see or hear about, perhaps ham-fistedly. I don't want to take anything away from anyone. So, I'll just say thank you to both Gary and Gemma for being awesome.

Has he ever written a song about his wig. As they have been close companions for many years now.
@CAM-nn4bx7 ай бұрын
Nope you are not being a “reductionist” I think you’ve summed it up well, it’s great that you found him. We all thank Gemma, she was a fan and knew what the fan’s wanted, thankfully Gary listened. To the guy that keeps making statements about “a wig” … it’s NOT a wig, he’s had 4 hair transplants and he’s been very open about that, you’re making yourself look a fool 🤡.

Gary Numan belies his 65 years. He could be one of those electro-industrial vampires.

Dude! So cool you got to and did this. What a treat indeed. Gary's been on top of his game for a few albums or more now! I love it. The quality of the music speaks for itself, louder than any naysayers. The innovation and growth as an artist he continues to bring is palpable and exciting.

Not sure if that includes any gigs pre 1979 but that's an average of nearly 23 gigs a year since 79' and I attended quite a lot of them from 85' to early 2000's

The Rolling Stones have played over 2000 gigs not once have they made a song and dance about their 1000th or indeed their 2000th gig. Numan's best days are well behind him. Album sales is another area which Gary likes to hype however Savage sold 43,000 copies which comprised of multiple formats which were made available during a pre-sale so fans bought multiple copies of the same album in different formats. Splinter sold under 7,000 copies. It's simply nonsense to claim there's been a resurgence it's the same old fans buying the records only this time they're able to buy Numan products in various formats. The End.

Well The Rolling Stones started in around about 1962. So what if they didn't make a song and dance about their 1000 or 2000th gig that's up to them. gary's fans like the fact that he did because they went to see him. Almost all bands release their material in a variety of different formats. This has been going on ever since there's been a variety of formats to purchase. Certainly in the 1980s this was in full swing with companies not only producing the same product in different formats but the same product in slightly different versions in order to promote sales This is nothing new. Album sales are not at all like what they used to be which is why bands have to go out performing more. . With today's songs being bought or listened to over the Internet I'm sure that Gary has far more demographic information about his customers or fans than ever before. So how you can claim there has or has not been a resurgence is beyond me. Perhaps you can prove your claim by providing some evidence.

Stones made a fuss over 40,50 and 60 years and rightly so. So yeah they all make a fuss.
