I'm a graduate of Alabama State University - I respect events like the SWAC and MEAC challenge, but I think it should have remained in Orlando where there are more attractions. However, I noticed the fans are not supporting these games with recorded numbers. Now, I believe that it will be in different cities each year. If so, it may be a sign that the event is fading away like the Heritage Football Championship between both conferences. Let's support our HBCU'S!

trelead Melton Yes; and taking nothing from Cookman, that's partially because the MEAC has fell off so bad. FAMU is still rebuilding, I guess SCSU is going through a tough transition, A&T is hit and miss, and NSU isn't the same. The SWAC bands seem to be more competitive and some are paying attention to musicianship fundamentals( AAMU and Prarie View). At one point almost the whole Meac was super competitive I don't know what happened.

Now, I will definitely say that Alcorn SOD has improved tremendously. I was very impressed with their clean sound and power last season... This here is coming off a bit loud and sloppy, though the sound is distorted via the audio of the footage. The clean/power element is what most will refer to when comparing Alcorn to this season, from last season... Now, dem there Mellos and Tubas are poppin the truck, they are definitely delivering. The Trumpets are being drowned out and will need to match them. Trombones and Baritones will definitely need to project more... Of course, BCU is going to be overall clean and precise, and unbothered, I expected nothing less of them... Alcorn SOD needs to focus on maintaining that clean-power element, and not over blowing; especially when you have other sections not delivering... I understand that they feel they have something to prove, but maintain that musicianship quality and balance.
