I never said they didn't sound good and every musician knows being able to play a coherent piece of music is the ultimate goal, BUT when it comes to a battle, intensity plays a MAJOR role. Not only does Jackson sound great, they have power behind their sound. That power is important! You can play "hot cross buns" as perfect as you want, but when JSU role up BLOWIN' nobody is going to remember how good you played.

Onyx Prime, I know exactly what you are referring to. However, I don’t base battles off who’s the loudest because the band with more instruments should always win that🤷🏽‍♂️ I preferred Asu’s Song selection, musicality and execution here. Being that they are significant smaller, they approach this battle strategically in my opinion. I just glad to see a lot of musicians acknowledging that. Bama went through the loud stage so we won the battle before to, so I get where you are coming from. I just hope they continue in this direction even with size.

Ok so this may be an unpopular opinion but just my thoughts. Alabama State sounds great this year. Arrangements are Nice, execution is Crispy. ASU just simply lack the numbers of a JSU, SU, PV, or even Miles or AAMU. This is the best I have heard them in years. Still JSU with the W tho.
