As a Boom member, PV was my favorite rival this past season. They came with the same intensity as us which made it THAT much more fun. Now we still won but it's mad respect over here for PV. That first junt they played was LOWD.

Im a student at Jackson State and i was sitting in the student section. For people to say PV has no power is WRONG. When they played their first not they made the whole student section jump and say 'DAMN' and im not lying. This was a very good battle and i'd rather see PV and jackson go head to head instead of southern and jackson.

After 197 comments, I’ll be honest with y’all… What makes this a great battle is the atmosphere… Both bands have been playing these same sounds from week to week… So what makes this different?? The crowd and the atmosphere. Both bands cranking, feeding off the crowd and the announcer (which is a good thing). Let’s all agree, the BEST band battle atmosphere happens at The Friendly Confines of Mississippi Veterans Stadium. Hands down… Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide!!! I’m telling my age here, but the only other stadium that comes to matching The Vet, was old Henderson Stadium (at Alcorn, back before they built Spinks).. The SoD and Boom battles back in 70s and early 80s were epic. What’s happening now ain’t new, y’all…

They have a signature sound at this point and have had it for years. It’s how a band brands itself and establishes an identity. The tunes sound different rhythmically but you can still identify the band’s sound when you hear it without actually seeing them. It’s actually the best thing a band can do. It sets them apart. I think PV has a signature sound too though, which is what makes this such a good battle. Jackson doesn’t try to be loud though, they definitely have a lot of dynamics in there music. But when they release their power, it’s 🔥!
