I was married to a woman for twelve years. I'm sixty, now, and the ex-wife is 4 years younger than me. My ex told our daughters she had a body count over 300. I believe her. She had multiple affairs while we were married. Poor choices, Men; be careful, be wise. Some women perceive sex as external validation (as opposed to internal). It's like drug use. @@FoxSleeping Well that is an interesting semantical distinction I will have to consider. In either case, whatever the better term, I was referring to my own choosing and decision-making. Yes, my ex made some poor choices/decisions but those were hers. I decided to choose her as a spouse, at least partly because I didn't understand the significance of what I was seeing, when I looked at her, and partially because her shortcomings offered me payoffs which I did not understand and own. It is an easy trap into which to fall. One of the things I've learned is that life is better and more enriching the better our understanding of our own decision-making is.

I'm a 66 year old male, and my body count is....less than 10, including my wife, and a long-term girlfriend before her. Also bear in mind that I spent most of the '70s in the military. For those women to admit to such huge body counts is just insane to me. If it were a guy, I'd say they were lying. Unless you're a public figure, like Michael Jordan, a man simply isn't going to rack up a huge number like 100 or more. Even then, I've only ever heard of less than a handful of guys in my entire lifetime that can be said that they've slept with that many women (and men, if you're David Bowie).

I've often done these mental calculations... When a woman goes out to a bar or club, doesn't she end up going home and having sex with a guy she met at the club that night? I agree that variety is more of a man thing, but the thing with these women is they often have no skill at locking down guys in the first place- thus the high count. They could be having even MORE sex more often if they had any skill at all in maintaining a relationship. But that's essentially the marshmallow test- greater reward from some self-control. This is also why the host of Whatever podcast (clipped a few times in this vid) often asks women what their longest relationship is/was; many don't make it past a single year.

These numbers don't surprise me at all, especially if the woman is in college. Imagine the average college-age woman hooks up with two different guys a month. Two a month doesn't sound like much but that's easy to do especially over spring and summer break. Multiply that by 12, that's 24 a year. Multiply that by 4 years and that's 96. 96 by the time she's 22 or 23 years old. And that's just two guys a month.

I hope someone does a longitudinal study of women who make choices like this in their early twenties and then track their outcomes over a 40 year period. Exactly. I have a story for you. My mom is a traditional woman, in her 50s. One of her coworkers is a very promiscuous woman in her 50s too. She used to tell to my mom, how she has sex with multiple men around her, sometime for fun, sometime for money and gift. Then after, she had a cancer. She was devastated and NO ONE CAME TO VISIT HER, except my mother. No lover, no one night stand, no friends, no family ( she is not married of course). Only one traditional coworkers , my mother. Women will say that those guys they had sex with in the past are just that, the past and the past doesn't matter. However, these things are mostly going to effect the future with you and her. Once she is secure in your relationship, she is going to take things out on you. She starts to expect perfect or even more than perfect and starts seeing her options and thinks that they are better.. even when the options are clearly worse, she is no longer able to see that. In other words, promiscuous women, know in their heart that the grass is greener and wind up selecting a new man before the previous relationship is done. 2 years ago i talked to a woman from Kazakhstan, which is supposedly a country more traditional oriented. When she told me she F-ed 40 men and she was 28 years old my heart fell. At the time i was 33 years old, i knew that the women quality was off for so many years, but hearing it for real this time... i fell into a semi-depression for 1 year; so much i was shocked. I think one thing that was not explained by Alex is the power of modern contraceptives. The possibility to be so promiscuous was only recently possible. Ive been thinking realistically what body count is too high depending on age for a woman. I'm almost 40 so if I dated a woman around 40, I have to expect her body count to be at least 10 conservatively speaking. Obviously, it will be higher most of the time. However, what's important is how the woman views her body count. What I mean is I dated a woman who was divorced and the only man she slept with before me was her ex husband. However, she would get mad if I thought a high body count was an issue even though she had only been with one other dude before me. She obviously had issues with men, but my point is her mindset. If a woman has had 10 bodies by 30, but regrets it, that mindset is something to consider and not be insecure about.
