I'm turning my small balcony into a little garden. I live in the city, I know nothing about growing veggies but I'm learning. It calms me down :) Do what You do because You do it great! I love carrot tops fresh off the carrot. I also dry them and use them as seasoning on eggs, in soups, or anything else I throw together. Thank you for this video. I can't wait to try the crispy peelings

Loved all the suggestions. I'm going to try your pesto and the crisps! My favorite recipe for carrot greens is to use only the fine leaves and small stems. Boil them for 1 minute, plunge into cold water then squeeze to remove as much water as possible. Make a dressing using 3 parts toasted sesame seeds that have been ground into a powder, 2 parts soy sauce and 1 part sesame oil or olive oil. You can add lemon juice and/or ginger to taste. Toss to coat greens. Enjoy.

you can make the pesto last longer, if you always keep it covered in some (olive)oil while storing in the fridge. it's also freezable. great video!

Great ideas. One thing I like to do with my "waste" is to make a veggie soup stock out of them in the pressure cooker.

If you regrow the tops & pop them into soil you can regrow full tops & use that too to harvest seed to grow more carrots!! The top itself won’t regrow a carrot but it will grow plenty of seeds to regrow new carrots with 🥰

You may not get a new carrot from the top but eventually it should produce seeds “since carrots are bi annuals” witch will then get you dozens on dozens more

Yes, you can freeze pesto but it will go darker once defrosted.

Isn't it unhealthy to eat the leaf part of carrots? My grandparents always said to wash thoroughly and take off the 1st peel from ground vegetables.. amd never eat stuff that retains soil and bacteria....
