Most of them are originally trainees from different companies who signed a contract to temporarily be a group until they disband and return to their original companies. the thing with these mnet survival groups is that their contracts are significantly shorter than regular contracts offered by regular entertainment companies. a regular entertainment company would usually offer a contract that is 7 years long but these mnet groups usually are only together for 2-3 years. zerobaseone's contract will end at the beginning of 2026 I believe. because they are all from different companies, most of these kinds of groups usually don't resign another contract after the first one expires as their own companies may have other plans for them like for example, debuting their own boy group with them in it to guarantee success as the public already knows them.
