This is genuinely one of the best boss fights I've had the pleasure of experiencing in my life. The intro music, walking in and him not saying a single dang word, fighting him for a solid minute only to learn you *just* scratched him, the ridiculous difficulty forcing you to use every single weapon you've learned the strengths and weaknesses of over countless battles, and finally succeeding only to have *that purple prick* use his body and go absolutely feral on you after last time... ...I love this game.

Don't feel ashamed to play on easy mode. The game is super hard on the latter chapters and you don't lose anything by playing on easy. Just in case it gets frustrating or something.

I did dip to easy mode a couple of times (once to regain progress after my save data was lost through some odd corruption, tho I ended up editing the save data to get back to where I was, and once to practice fighting Sunstar) but ultimately I did finish every stage on Normal, though it was certainly not easy in later stages.

This battle is so damn good, it's really capture the feeling of fighting a doomsday weapon that can kill anything with one attack. Of course the attack patterns are really chaotic, but if you can understand how they work, and how you can dodge, it's became a really fun fight, congratulations to the devs of this mod.

For anyone struggling to beat this, there is a set of weapons which will do best against sunstar. You'll absolutely need Plant barrier, as it regenerates health, + you should take skull barrier to reduce damage against the ball attack and if you can't dodge the laser. For attack: The best weapons i found were: Napalm bomb, Hard Knuckle, Metal Blade, Wave burner (only if you come close enough to Sunstar). And DO believe me, pretty much every weapons expect these ones doesn't do shit to Sunstar, so you WILL need them. Also, if you are refighting Sunstar, Spark Chaser can obliterate around Half his HP in mere seconds, so use that on phase 2

You won't get spark chaser until after this fight unless you're replaying it. Also if you're good at running I'd substitute Scorch Wheel for Skull Barrier for that annoying ball attack.

I only really held onto grab buster and laser trident (does CRAZY damage) and I kept rerolling the shop but auto wouldn't gimme skull barrier 😢

Okay, you probably got past him now, but here's what I recommend for every attack (the ones I remember, at least): Splitting fire shots: Focus on them for a moment and go through the openings. Simple when there's one, not so simple when there's more than one. Ground fire wave: Run in circles and jump over the fires, that should be enough to dodge it. Jumping fire wave: Another simple attack, run through the upper parts of the wave. If he starts glowing, get ready to jump. If you jumo at just the right time, he'll completely miss the incoming laser. As long as you jump, like, at all, you should be fine. Desperation attack: Announced with a 'voice' line, Sunstar floating to the center of the room and engulfing himself in flames, and the room going dark. First, dodge the incoming fire waves. You should be fine moving left and right quickly. Then, jump out of the way of the fire trails. You then have to jump to the right a minimum of two times, in order to be able to dodge the fire walls. After you deplete around two thirds of his health, he goes into a rage, and his attacks become overall harder to dodge. Notable mentions include: Laser: The laser now moves to your right, and then to the left (i might be wrong with this one, i haven't fought sunstar in a while, but i know it moves). Splitting fire shots: Sunstar now jumps and fires one at your current position a few times in a row. You should be able to dodge them the same as before. Sunstar also adds a new attack, that jumping fire sphere thing, which I don't really know how to dodge yet. A little extra: If you get close (as in, *very* close, melee range) to Sunstar at any time, he'll grab you, like in the pre-fight scene, and toss you away, dealing some damage.

@@tadeogomez7303 Slight correction: the pre-fight scene ends the second the first battle music begins playing, and you can move immediately. If you're skilled enough at remaining out of his grab range, you can avoid being grabbed at all for the whole fight.

I’m pretty sure this is what the original 2d Sunstar battle felt like to me when I was 5 years old and far less skilled 😁. This is way better and a lot more difficult though. Whoever did this captured what the gameboy’s MMV Sunstar battle was supposed to feel like in 3d. Amazing work. Also, both this and the gameboy’s mmV should be on the Megaman Legacy Collection. It’s missing the best games!! (MmV GB and Rockman and Forte, or MM9 snes version)

Bro this boss has one of most ass attacks i have ever seen. In phase 2 Sunstar sometimes start to roll and jump on you and hit when collide but you cant dodge it no matter how fast you run it did not happen in this video but he does it often and one of the ways that i think is to use a weapon that slows or stops time and the time weapon i have only has 2 uses Anyone know how can i dodge it _WITHOUT_ using any weapon?

The Mega Arm is explicitly stated to be the most powerful weapon ever built and that did next to no damage against Sunstar. Besides, even if X finds a way to kill Sunstar, he's not gonna celebrate for long with the planet completely gone.

​@@Raincloud5137nah, Light quite litteraly cant build anything that straight up counters Sunstar, like no matter how much stronger X is compared to Megaman, the Mega Arm IS the strongest single weapon humanity ever made, and its not nearly as powerfull and versatile in sheer power as Stardroid tech, X was made maybe a few decades top after MMV because Light is not getting any younger, and his potential certainly means he can surpass the Stardroids at one point, but it also means his peak firepower would barely be above the Mega Arm and thats not even confirmed because all Stardroid tech is gone after the events of MMV and thus Light would neither have a motive to reverse engineer them, nor the material to reverse engineer in the first place. Mind you X would probably win against Sunstar even, but definitly not until he gets a similar amount of fighting experience as Megaman at least due to sheer firepower issues. And eventhen X could definitly die from the aftershock of a litteral Sun exploding in his face
