For H!Xane, something I do wanna say is that as Bst is getting higher and higher, he will also be able to get these stats, while also having the flexibility of every skill slots available, which help him a lot as now we truly are in a skill meta, Plus i do remember when Alfred released, it was funny to have Xane and Him together for having 70+ Def on a mage

Xane is the reason as to why pref skills will give stats *during* combat instead of being visible like Alfred's.

Idk I feel like he has major flaws, there are tons of ways to stat stack, unity skills/effects, bonus doubler, ally support etc, the thing is there’s also a number of effects that ignore stat stacking. Extra dmg from sources like Scendscale, Start of combat dmg, AoE dmg, luna/lethality. It’s not strong enough to just have big stats, you also need effects that help you do well in combat. That help you manage the effects that get around your stats.

@@samkeiser9776while this is true, it’s also true Xane can still get a lot of effects through his skills and seal, and with the amount of units that now give out 2 or more effects for free at start of turn, it’s not that hard to also Effect stack him I would love to at least grab a copy of him just to mess round with, purely becuase I have Duo Seidr who has a obscene amount of Atk and Res and just need someone who is Speedy and bulky Physically, Looking at you Timerra

@@theaceofnoobs9377 I mean he’s still at a major disadvantage even if you were to give him the best skills and support available to him. He’s most suited to enemy phasing, because he has to be near allies, but he’s a ranged unit. So he can’t use any form of special DR because even aegis and pavise are off limits for him. Emblem Ike only saves him from ranged foes and ultimately still doesn’t do a ton. He’s weak to counter disrupt without NCD meanwhile he also can’t pierce DR without a B slot for it or some kind of support. He also can’t get close counter without dedicating his A slot to it. He also doesn’t have -1 cd. I think the best thing he can probably do is be a funny far save using assign decoy. Like unity skill, Laguz friend, time’s pulse, flare, and emblem ike, and then he’s still missing NCD, brave special DR%, notably good offense (even Flare + piercing wouldn’t be enough) and it’d be hard to keep him within stat copying range of all his allies. And he would probably get out stated by units that are stat balls because their equipment just gives them a ton of stats allowing their high stats to be even higher than it’s reasonable to have visible stats.

@@mercy144 oh certainly. The power of that banner came from everyone having brave attacks. The only reason id place Edelgard higher is that she could get 3 actions in a turn so she had utility in multiple modes. He wasnt the best unit, but he was far from it

I agree. In the same vein that Perne is almost the best unit from this year's Thracia banner. If Tina wasn't on the banner, he would have been the best unit. Many people kinda slept on Safy, but Tina stole the show by stealing foe bonuses. Perne being an f2p Legendary Female Shez is really strong.

Low hanging fruit, but: Reinhardt was the OG "demote best of the banner." Looking into it, he was in a 3 demote banner (Klein/Lachesis/Rein), and Sanaki/Eldigan/Olwen really weren't worth writing home about. Really funny to think about how they gave us a high attack brave tome cav in the early days and his competition was a higher mt killing edge (I think this was before they added slaying edge?) and post combat hone atk 3, but for what it's worth, I guess Elimine can't shut down unrefined Cymbeline's hone atk 3 question mark lmao

At the time. I don't think even inheritance was a thing yet. He wasn't the best unit by any means since he fell to Hector who was in every Arena team.

Reyson being a great Singer unit also was backed up by the fact that his weapon has a healing effect for allies within two spaces; while 7HP may not seem like enough for some people, it can make or break a battle and it also negated the need to have a healer on the team (and while I mean healers have way more effects, Reyson’s healing effects can make up for it if you play strategically enough). Most of the times I’ve done unit showcases, I’ve ALWAYS used Reyson so the other two team slots could be support for the main unit(s) being showcased.

Recent i was an fan of Spring Mirabilis, great demote with even some prf stuff. Potential to become super bulky also, so she could become an supportive tank and had good support options like bonus doubler and dance is always good

Mirabilis deserved such a good alt, she’s also good to pair with Mauvier because of his need for bonus effects. Not to mention being a demote with Mystic Boost also fucks.

As someone who still uses Halloween Xane, stuff like Flare, Laguz Friend, Verge of Death and more have really helped him out in being a pretty good omni tank. I dont really play PvP modes but he always helps with mythic/legendary/emblem hero battles!

If I remember well, Sothe could also count for this list. He had a very good splash weapon that could assist with killing some of the most tank unit popular at the time. Not to mention he was the first time we had life and death in the 4* pool.

Zelgius and Micaiah were def better than him on release, but that isn’t discounting him either. He was quite good for the time also. Micaiah having Cav/Armor eff with Thani and Zelgius being Black Knight with merges and IVs set them definitively above, but that isn’t discounting Sothe by any means, as he probably aged the best out of them in spite of his lesser start.

Out of all of my Seasonal demote units, H!Xane's my highest merged unit and still fun to use. 2nd Seasonal demote unit I use is Y!Lyon.

I would agree, if it where not because of ash, she was just that good, not only good combat, but also amazing support, she was a must have in most teams and her support where unique to her in that moment, otherwise, yeah, yenfay was better than the other swords on that banner and than basilio Also, he got too much unfair hate, even if his prf was not the best for the time, he could use rearmed and he could work amazing anyways

Not quite, demotes and grail units fall in a different category but yeah Yen’fey was a monstrous f2p unit. As a Priam fangirl I was crying over my husband getting overshadowed by a GHB unit, but as a primary demote/GHB player, I was impressed with IS for remembering the f2p crew and being so gracious.

i think you are heavily undervaluing how good bridal micaiah was on release. she was a MENACE because of her duo button, essentially allowing anyone to vantage sweep extremely effectively. she also came out before ninja lyn by a solid few months so duo’s hindrance wasn’t really a thing people ran either

Next video maybe about the best aged 4 star special? The 5 stars moved into the “You old and useless now” pool. I’ve found that while trying to merge units using arena tickets is just not happening due to how bloated the pool is, the fact they are on revival banners means they are significantly easier to merge up than typical 5 stars. Most are just garbage, or just fodder. But some are still great units. Would probably have to exclude cyl, since they obviously are better than the majority, or at least the newer ones are.

I would highlight summer claude tbh, yeah sure, he is not necessarily the best one of the banner, but he was still basically the best pick from that one, because you would get what at practical effects was a super strong five stars, but with the odds of getting him of a demote, for his moment, he worked really amazing and was a really popular project for many people

Ares used to be so good. It’s really unfortunate that his refine was outdated almost immediately. Reyson to this day is actually one of the most underrated units in the pool. When the conditions are right, he’s a 3 movement flying refresher that heals the team for free. That’s actually still really powerful. I still use him with firestorm dance and infantry speed tactics for full force support.

For a very early demote. We had the banner of Eirika, Ephraim, Julia and Seliph. And yes. Originally Eirika was not the best. But from her refine to arcane weapons. She was the best of the banner because the more buffs were added. The more buffs she got. Easy to plus 10. And became not just a buff bot for Nino

I guess I'll be the one to point it out, but Demotes and Four Star Focus are not the same thing. What makes a demote a demote is the fact that they enter the permanent pool as 4 stars (used to be 4 and 5 stars with the last unit to be this being Altena). Four Star Focus are still seasonal locked which is what makes them not demotes. P.S. Valor is not pronounced Veiler/Veyler. Is VA as in VAcation and lor as in parLOR.

Eh, that's some weird revisionism going here cuz they ARE the same thing. The only difference was that demotes only demoted after the banner ended; Four Star Focus-es, which debuted on the banner RIGHT after Lysithea's debut banner, allowed you to pull the demoted unit on the banner while it was up at a 4-5star rarity. For both Seasonals AND New Heroes. (that same year, there was also a big stink about it not applying to the fallen heroes banner)
