I'm starting to regret not building Echidna when I could. Well, I guess I'll have to start summoning for copies, since she looks like a really interesting merge project. Hope IS continues making good refines for demotes and grial units (and hope something like ross' refine doesn't happen again)

I +10'd both Ross and Echidna when I could, but the spike from baseline to refineland is NOTICABLE in how big a gap it is. Ross does what he did already better with his refine, but Echidna is on a rampage. Only thing is she can't hit her stupidest until I pick up Legendary Robin. I will point out that while Echidna is doing her utmost when LRobin is on the team, these videos also are an ongoing affirmation that LRobin was a GIANT mistake until IS figures out how to make counterplay to unity/grand stratagem stacking. Several units are walking around with the ability to get a whole-ass other unit worth of BST in their weapon while Robin exists, and now one of them is an easy, popular merge project. I am glad she's eating Hans's lunch, though, fuck Hans.

That’s something I keep in mind. In the video on Ross, he was doing most of the fighting on his own, whereas Echidna needed Robin to consistently show the extent of her refine. She probably would not have won against that Lumera without his support. That’s why I don’t think it’s fair to consider Echidna’s new weapon strictly better than Ross’, because they’re meant to specialize in different roles. Totally agree about Hans though, fuck that guy. And fuck grand strategy.

@@GreymixShiro I don’t think you really need slaying in this case with special charge +1 on primarily enemy phase unit, since you should retaliate with VA after one hit. Godlike is fair enough, without slaying or some sort of support for it, it’s clunky

@@mrjeeble364 for sure you can use VA as a dmg special since it will grant you highest dmg at 2 cd, I Just said you can't make full use of it without slaying, or spiral 4, but running a dodge 4 is better anyways since it's more DR and speed, and since this was just a showcase of a little to no invest Echidna, moonbow gets the work done just fine

Unity is a very strong effect on its own, even without Robin. Robin just gives the opportunity to 100% put the BS in “BST” instead of like, 80-60% on its own Even then, Echidna still has the Ice Mirror from Damage Reduction, so she’s a have your cake and eat it too unit tbh, I’m going with the Damage Reduction God-Axe route tho

As a Ross fan, the refine isn't even that bad. It's just expensive, since Bulwarks are still locked to 5 star units.

It is funny, but it works better on ranges units since it’s only player phase. Plus she has access to tier 4 damage reduction skills, so those would work better for mixed phase. However, if you are building echidna for player phase, it’s not that bad of an option.

While unity stacking with her is her best 1 range build by far, especially if you have LMRobin support (even if you don't tbh), FFByleth's kit is p.good. If you have it, SPD Smoke is better as you can't pre charge Vital Astra with no slaying.

@@audinothesweetswarlock4229 If you take 100 damage, Echidna's weapon would reduce it by 30. Brash assault would reduce it by an additional 21. You'll take a total of 49 damage. Echidna's weapon will see you reduced damage by 51, and her weapon will add that to your damage. Brash assault will see the opponent had 100 original expected damage, so it will add 30. Thus, you do a total of +81 damage in this hypothetical example. Hope that clears it up

Spectrum unity, damage reduction, post combat healing AND dmg reduced converted to true damage?! On a free 3-4 star axe unit. Sorry, but where the heck did this come from? Kinda feel bad for anyone whose built any other axe unit this past while, ESPECIALLY Hans, cause yikes echidna has powercrept all of them out of nowhere. Except haar though, he still good.

I'd call Echidna budget/sidegrade Hans. Hans has much higher attack, 7 or 8 more points to be exact, a few extra points in speed, and he gets 10% more damage reduction in his weapon. The big things Echidna has going are her ease of access/mergeability, higher res by a few points, and the ability to become a crazy stat ball with Omni Unity.

@@thecursed_1lordofcats738 to be fair, if you max invest in Hans and Echidna, that probably means Echidna is using AtkSpd Unity + MRobin support, which completely blows Hand out of the water in Atk/Spd. Han's A slot is more flexible as he isn't buffed as much but unity stacking, and if she isn't Unity buffed she is worse. But Hans also wishes he had +1 CD on hit.
