Mine was really nice until Downtrust (Skydive)'s knees gave out and the figure took a bad tumble off the shelf. I don't know the full extent of the damage but there are several pieces that definitely broke off. I just put in a storage bin and haven't looked at it since. Thanks for the review Bobby. Holy shit! I thought I was the only one in the world that disliked Superion. He literally got his ass beat 1 on 1 against Menasor then Omega had to step in Hahaha. This combiner however is awesome even though I'm not in on it. (Bc its Superion lol)

This video made me save up to buy the set. About one year later, my local seller didn't have a stock, but then Superitron hit the shelves, and I saved enough. I really, REALLY like it. Great design, and I am not bothered at the shell as I had thought earlier. Thank you for reviewing it, and made me make up my mind about this set.

3 for 3. Zeta keeps improving their products. Your excited laugh when moving those ratcheted legs without anything falling off was the best review this set could ever have. This Superion looks amazing! And now I can't wait for whatever Zeta throws at us in the future. Predaking? Oh, bring it on! I'm really hoping for a Zeta Defensor in the future. after seeing this review, and your best of the year lists and stuff, you convinced me to go in on this. i got the superitron box set (metallic paint version of kronos) and i adore it. its my first MP combiner, my second combiner ever, and the biggest bot i own. i love it to bits its the best piece in my collection. by far the most expensive toy ive ever bought but its worth every penny, thanks for the recommendations lol

Excellent combiner and I'm on board with everything Zeta does combiner wise. I've been watching the threads and groups, people asking for certain combiners to be next and whatnot, I think Predaking is a great one to do next. However, I don't think people have anything to fear, combiners seem to be the bread and butter of what Zeta is doing and to think they don't know what would be foolhardy. With as much success as they've had with these so far, I would be willing to bet that they make them all, including the more obscure ones. Keep em coming Zeta, I'm ready! Excellent job Bobby of showcasing this great figure!

Let me start by saying they made some smart modifications and advancements to the combiner mode over Bruticus. Very smart to do the sideways shoulder mounts rather than top down that pop open all the time. The leg connections are much better also. Just a great fig. I know some people find it annoying but I laugh every time you say FEET. hahaha

This is a good looking set with pretty solid joints. I got the “Dark Side” (basically Superion in Nemesis Prime colors) version which looks beautiful. I also love that the feet came with optional grip strips to prevent sliding on smooth surfaces. However, I have to give it a ding for the elbow and thumb articulation. The rails for the backpacks are always in the way and keep the figure from achieving the full range of motion it should be capable of. The thumb was just not designed well for holding the rifle-good thing the tab slot is excellent at holding the gun in place. Overall, it’s a good combiner for the cost-it just could have used a little more TLC in the design and prototype testing phases of the process to work out some kinks.

Zeta Combiners fit better with Masterpiece scale figures, i wish we could get bigger city bots, they would have to be atleast 4ft to fit in scale with these Zeta combiners, and the cost would be insane.

Reminds me of Dreamwave Comics version of Superion. Time for me to pick up the last three bots of the set. Only thing missing is an alternate head...that hopefully won't come out in a different color palette set. Also, Zeta should just give every combiner a go, they have it on lock at the moment. Hell even give me a combined Dynobot, or a Metroplex.

I love this guy. I've had the set for a while now but I only transformed him into combined mode last night. I was worried b/c I saw some of the other reviewers having issues with things tabbing in. However, I think most of that is user error. The only issue I had was with the leg-to-crotch connections in combined mode (like you and others mentioned). For mine, they actually tabbed in incredibly well, but each leg had one that was slightly askew compared to the other, so they didn't line up perfectly. So I sanded down the tabs, they now align much better but I sacrificed the strength of the connection. Other than that this guy is incredibly solid, I even have him displayed w/ all additional wings which I wasn't planning to do. I think when it comes to tabbing things in, it comes down to time and patience. I spent 2 hours working on the combined mode. Adjusting, Re-adjusting, and in the case of those leg tabs modifying. But now this looks perfect, not one panel is out-of-place, and not one tab / joint isn't as strong as it should be... He may have just stole the #1 spot for my Collection.

I like him a lot better than their Bruticus. The individual bot modes are better with less objectionable kibble, alternate modes look great and he locks together nice and solid. They did a much better job with the knee locking mechanism than Bruticus.

FT will have a hard time matching this combine mode for sure. Not impressed at all by their latest transformation designs.

Honestly i wouldn't be surprised by a set with a large figure representing the combined mode, 5 robots and 5 vehicles for the alternate mode. It would cost less than all those engineering built around an unsatisfying and much better for display purpose, because the latter seems to be the most important aspect for those third party toys.

So I'm curious, at this point why not just have entire combiner as a statue or limbs come with a non-transforming brick/case version that is put together? that'd give better articulation and stability than actually trying to retrofit smaller bots as limbs, no? don't get me wrong, I don't mind either way (since I'm not a combiners collector and I don't mind parts formers as long as it works well). Just having the torso, might as well have a large statue that's scaled to MPs?

I think this thing is better than Constructor for a couple of reasons: (1) The right shoulder with Scavenger is waaaaaaaay too tight. I'm scared every time I move it and things always come untabbed when I manage to do so. (2) Manipulate Constructor again and you'll remember he's top-heavy and can be a bit wobbly. Not an issue on my version on Kronos. (3) An ankle twist for Scrapper but not one for Mixmaster is just weird and limits pose-ability, especially in light of #2. Kronos has those weird thigh tabs that don't stick in but they at least cover down when untabbed and i'll take that over a pose-ability issue any day. (4) You needed to buy a couple of upgrades to get things looking G1. Kronos came with both options straight away. (5) Elbow swivels are too loose. Manipulate anything near them and they'll flop all over the place. This might be due to parts-forming but not 100% sure. Love both, but this is easily the better figure.

I've always been a proponent of Toyworld/Zeta, but I admit to being a little doubtful about their Aerialbots when I first got them-they seemed a little flappy, and the plastic felt a little cheap. That said, Superion is absolutely magnificent and just pops around the other figures, even the Toyworld Devastator, which was the previous gold standard of combiners in my opinion. The sum of the parts in this case was far, ahem, superior to the individual items. I couldn't be more happy with the combined mode. The review above is dead on-he feels solid, looks amazing, and for about $400 total fun bucks, was a heck of a deal. I will say that the only thing that keeps this from perfection is the lack of solid locking mechanisms between the fore and aft parts of the jets. Especially in combiner mode, the nosecone and engines that are supposed to stay together with two little clips just barely do, and almost every time you move them, they split and have to be reattached. It's really annoying. From a shelf display perspective, it won't matter, but putting it together and doing any kind of posing with it is a level of pain that could have been easily avoided with some basic interlocking clips, kind of like what they do with the arm and leg attachments. That said, I've got mine standing next to the ToyWorld Devastator, and Devy still looks like he could beat his ass. It's my favorite combiner so far, however. Though the robot modes of the team looks meh, the jet modes are outstanding, and all together, this thing is an 9.5 out of 10, with the half point being lost for shaky connectors with the jet parts. The combiner itself is rock solid.

This thing is so dope!!! Not a big Superion fan but, this is a very tempting piece (Still need a ToyWorld Dev, and whatever Stunticon set looks best) I am extremely impressed with the articulation. The hip slider is very trick. Extremely stable for the articulation. One question, can you swap all the limb bots around, or is it just left to right?

With FT Silverbolt being $180, I'm guessing their limb bots will be at least $100 a pop, giving you a nearly $600 combiner. While Zeta here is $400 tops. It does look drop dead gorgeous, and i prefer it over Kronos, but I just can't see FT being $200 better. It would have to be *perfect* in every possible way for me to justify paying that much more. I wonder if FT is gonna keep the Zeta price point in mind. Maybe we'll see $70 limb bots from them?

Damn. I can only afford one set. I like to switch my display around from different modes so I want aerialbots that look good in all three modes. Now I need to decide do I get these guys who in my opinion look amazing in 2 modes but not at all what I want in bot mode or do I take a chance on fanstoys who will look good in bot mode but will probably break going to jet mode and who knows if their combiner will hold together and look anywhere near as good as this one? The ft fanboy in me says wait, but I'm wondering if arcee ruined my brainwashing.

The arms are the arms and the legs are the legs. You can put them on opposite sides but no you can't use a leg bot for an arm or vice versa.
