Be great to see more of the vintage machinery especially the David brown 💪

We used to have a Kidd pulled with a 7610, a 6610 for drawing in with Fraser single axle trailers and a 996 on the clamp….

Takes me back 40 years after the leaving cert.... Cutting with a 674 and a kidd harvester, and drawing in with 574. Now it's all gone ridiculous money machinery. Fact is the cattle are just as happy with double chopped silage

Great to see the Crystal. Poor lad on the pit didn't realise hardship til he had to push up double chop silage.

had a 674 in my youth never liked it ........chopped it for a fiat 80-90 back in the spring of 95 and the 674 was in the garage for over 2 years and then went to the breakers .............

@@georgedoorley5628 that’s a shame, what didn’t you like? We run a 474 and have used many others, always thought they were powerful, good gearbox’s, nimble etc

How is a crystal able to work a double chop harvester? A big weapon on the pit for small trailers😂😂😂
@CianKenneally3 жыл бұрын
Not a bother on her! Ya the loader is a bit out of place but it belongs to a neighbor of theirs so handier to just use that instead of a buckrake

In the seventies Crystal was the preferred tractor for a double chop ESP the 12011 beat the 8700 any day
@MrT79shakeshake3 жыл бұрын
You've obviously never driven a crystal. They were and still were an animal, legend has it they'll even run with crankshaft turning the wrong way.
@georgedoorley56283 жыл бұрын
@@paddymickiemickie8221 12011 was an absolute savage of a machine in 2wd ..........one around here used to run a tarrup 602 with a direct cutting head and have a 16 ft trailers behind it ........things moved on and it was used to side fill from a self propelled harvester .......on the headlands you had to be careful not to give it too much boot as a half filled trailer would have the wheels lift off the ground on the light side ............
@MrT79shakeshake3 жыл бұрын
@@georgedoorley5628 2wd 12011 was used by a Galway contractor with great effect similar to you pulled a 602b direct cut......then finished.its later years on one of the last Arch Silage trailers before Quinn's in Athenry went making truck bodies.
