This is the best episode I've seen!!! From all the pictures to the old Slayer and Megadeth footage... I grew up with all this music, but I didn't grow up in the Bay Area. I could listen to these stories all day!!! Thanks Zet and Rick for all the Music and memories!!! I love you guys

I did know he played but never seen any footage. I can't thank you Zetro enough for playing this. I grew up in a small Australian country town and my whole teens was being an outcast at school listening to Exodus and Ozzy and to this day I've never seen you guys live in Australia. I was playing Bonded by Blood cassette on my walkman to the few Slayer fans at school in the 80's and they were like who the fuck are these guys🤦‍♂. IMO, the Big 4 should be a Big 5, and Exodus deservedly belongs there and on top. Gary and Rick are criminally underrated as guitarists and are the KK Downing and Glen Tipton of thrash and you guys to this day blow everyone away. You gotta make it Down Under please🙏🤟🤟.

Zetro i just would like to say Thank You for each and every episode of the Vault. I sincerely appreciate you taking time from your no doubt- busy days to make sure the fans like me are entertained. I always look forward to your interviews, i love hearing about all the ol war stories from back in the day.. I would also like to say Thank You to you, the rest of Exodus, and Death Angel, for playing an added show during the bay strikes back tour in Louisville Ky a couple months ago. I remember you saying that it was supposed to be a night off for the bands and instead yall did that show. I had tickets to see the show at newport music hall or wherever in april or may after the covid delay and i didnt get to go because 3 days before the show my checking account was hacked qnd all my money was stolen. I was beyond upset about missing the show because that. So thank y'all very much for playing louisville in september. Nothing was stopping me from seeing that show. That was my first time getting to see EXODUS Live !!! I'm Looking forward to seeing Exodus again the next time yall come thru the bluegrass state!!! \,,,/

The first time I ever saw Exodus was from the same POV and position as the camera in the final video, although not that particular show. That was my initiation, front row barrier in front of Rick Hunolt and it is one of my most vivid concert memories. It was the first time I had ever seen a metal band of that caliber -- and up close like that to boot. This 2nd instalment was really fun, I thoroughly enjoyed the Legacy demo and the other snipits from the early days of the Bay area timeline. I love Exodus and always will!

Hey Walt, great job on schooling the idiot on Blabber about what's what. You're completely right. This is exactly why these interviews are so important. To capture the thoughts and stories of the musicians and fans that were actually on the scene is even more vital in this age of instant idiocy!

I've always loved that intro riff, crushing!! 'Within the Walls'. 'Impact' was really good. Rick ruled, his solos always had more of a theme, more melodic, but could also shred. His style with Gary's...just so cool together. Prime 'H-Team' was some of my favorite stuff.

I was at the Ruthie's and Keystone shows. It was a time to behold. Exodus and Slayer!!!! Total madness!!! It was a time you knew that was about to EXPLODE into a genre of Metal that would stand alone and crush everything in its path. So fortunate I was able to witness and party and live in this early scene in the Bay Area. Thank you fellas so much for the great memories!!! Just saw you in February at THE FOX Theater in Oakland. Lookin well Rick. You guys are KILLIN IT STILL!!!

Growing up on the East coast I always envied the West coast Thrash scene. You guys had all the cool bands. Us east coasters had to wait for you guys like Slayer, Exodus, Metallica, Megadeth, and Testament to tour to the small clubs, which made it all the more fun to go see these bands cuz all we had was the crossover HC, Punk, and hair metal bands on the East coast. Hearing you guys reminiscing the good ole days and how the fuck you survived it is a hoot. Good to see Rick survived it.

Also loved "Creature Features" tune Zetro. LOL. Nice work in a funny AF way. Through all the years, love u all. Made my life what it is today. ZETRO HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD by saying how WE ALL FOUND THE TAPES/ALBUMS/SHIRTS ETC WE ORDERED OR BOUGHT BY LOOKING IN ZINES FOR THE COOLEST NAMES AND LOGOS TO CHECK OUT LOL.... AS FOR ME, i started going to shows early, approx 12, in the mid 80s, BUT BEFORE THAT, I SIMPLY LOOKED THRU ALBUM AND CASSETTE FOLD OUT ART/LYRIC JACKETS AND KEPT AN EYE OUT FOR WHATEVER SHIRTS THE BAND MEMBERS WOULD HE WEARING, OR THE BANDS IN THEIR THANKS LISTS, LOGOS/PHOTOS ETC ETC .... ALL THESE THINGS BRIUGHT ME TO KNOWING ABOUT ALL THE SICK BANDS TO GET RECORDINGS OF! It worked very well. Of course, some strange ones would up in the "listen to some other day maybe" pile lol.... but even then, SOME OF MY FAV BANDS TURN OUT TO BE BANDS THAT I WAS THROW ALOOF OF AT FIRST, OR ONEA THAT EAS HESITANT ABOUT UPON FIRST LISTEN. THE ONES THAT GROW ON YOU, ARE SOME OF THE LONGEST LASTING FAVS. AS AN EXAMPLE OF JUST PURELY FINDING A BAND I NEVER HEARD OF, I CAME ACROSS THE OBITUARY CASSETTES/INNER COVER JACKETS, THEY WERE WEARING GODFLESH SHIRTS. I SAW THE TAPES ETC IN THE LOCAL RECORD SHOP, AND CINFIRMED HOW INTERESTING THE ALBUM COVER WAS, BOUGHT IT, WENT HOME THINKING I WAS ABOUT TO BE SLAYED BY THE FASTEST, LOW TUNED, GURGLING DEATH BLAST MUSIC, ONLY TO FIND SLOW, PUMMELING, NEARLY AN INDIATRIAL TWIST TO THE DEATH DOOM DIRGE, PLUS ALL THE INSANE SAMPLES OF HORROR/SCI FI STUFF ENTERTWINED WITHIN THOUGHOUT THE WHOLE ALBUM. EVEN HAD A DRUM MACHINE AT THE TIME. TOOK ME ONE LISTEN TO BE FULL ON BLOWN AWAY BY THE PUMMELING, DRONING HELL RIFFS, BUT IT TOOK ME A FEW LISTENS TO GET THRU ALL THE AVANT GARD EXPERIMEMTAL STUFF BETWEEN RIFFS AND SONGS. ONCE I DID, I NEVER LOOKED BACK. GODFLESH ARE A FAVORITE STILL TODAY. BEEN IN A BAND THAT TOOK MAJOR INFLUENCE FROM STREETCLEANER AND THE S/T GODFLESH. VOIVOD WERE ANOTHER GREAT EXAMPLE. BUT YUP, I GIANT PORTION OF MY INSANELY LARGE METAL COLLECTION CAME FROM EXACTLY THE SAME WAY ZETRO JUST SAID IT IN THE VIDEO.

cool stuff!! but your definitely off with some of those dates! that megadeth footage from the keystone berkeley is from 1984 not 1983. kill em all was released in july 1983. cliff joined metallica in early 1983 and played his first show at the stone on march 5th 1983 (exodus with kirk opened) ; kirk played his first show with metallica on april 16th 1983 in NJ. yea i definitely agree dave mustaine was the focal point of early metallica but much had to do with him being a few years older; he was much more charismatic and outgoing than most in the scene so many looked up to him! he definitely picked up the most chicks back then!😁

Sounds like Lokking Down the Cross but that show was from early 1984. WHT weird is they played some song off of SFSGSW at that show and I can't remember what it was. To lazy to look it up. But Dave had some of those songs already and I have no idea why he didn't put them on Peace Sells.
