It will be interesting to see if his style meshes with HLE, or rather it ends up clashing. It wouldn't be the first time star-studded players are thrown together but end up clashing and not doing well. We've never seen Zeus with anyone else to really tell.

But if the rumors going around now (stemming from people translating korean texts/articles) are true, it was Zeus' agent who ROYALLY fucked this whole thing up, and screwed over T1 with really shady shit. Should that be true, I HOPE Zeus didn't know what all was going on, because if he did, I can never respect him ever again. And hope he never wins another trophy. To summarize: Zeus and Kiin are managed by two different agencies, but only on paper (same "root" / implied collusion). T1 had a verbal agreement to sign Zeus but the agency bluffed and asked T1 for a ridiculously high $$$ number (like ~$4 mil) to buy time (and if T1 DID pay that, theres a good chance other members from ZOFGK scatter the next re-sign). So T1 asked this agency to let them know what their intentions are before Kiin re-signs (so that T1 could try for him if Zeus fell through). But Zeus' agency ghosted T1 until after Kiin re-signed to GenG to add pressure to T1. When negotiations began again on Nov. 19th, T1 had the full intention to shell out even more than the previous offers to keep Zeus. But then the agency told them that HLE offered more, and then continued ghosting T1. After these series of actions, T1 was royally pissed and contacted Doran's agent. But they wanted to keep ZOFGK and were readily offering multiple contract types and whatever they wanted on the contract. But Zeus' agent walked a fine line between legal and illegal dealings to screw over T1. We will see as more info comes out, but I cannot blame T1 if that is true.

I think getting a challenger is too much risky than getting Doran. With a challenger, the amount of pressure would be so huge cause LCK and LCK CL are two different leagues, there pressure is enough to crack you down, by chance T1 with a challenger made it to MSI/Worlds, the little semblance of mental fortitude would be gone already cause you'll be playing with seasoned veterans and that would be a huge task to give for them. Compared on Doran, he knows the pressure, he knows how MSI/Worlds works cause he's been there several times now. The only thing he needs to work with now is his synergy with OFGK, and to improve his gameplay alone while laning cause the shoes he's stepping right now is huge and he need to step up at some point for them to win.

T1 and Zeus basically had a verbal agreement to resign, so they were banking on that, but then he and his agency pulled some real shady shit at the very end trying for even more money. Also delaying and ghosting on T1 to make the time tick away for added pressure. Additionally T1 got ghosted until after Kiin re-signed to GenG so that option fell through for them. T1 was intending to spend even more on Zeus when negotiations resumed on Nov 19th, but the agency kept playing games with them. All in all, T1 management are royally pissed, and if Korean sources are to go by (so take with a grain of salt - this info is from people google translating korean articles), they're looking for an angle to sue Zeus' agency now in the aftermath. If Zeus himself was a part of all that, and not just being led around gullably by his agent (possible, but I'd also hope he'd have a sense of self agency); then I lose ALL respect for him, and hope he never wins another trophy. It is not that large of a downgrade. Is it a downgrade? Yes. A huge one? No. Zeus has had plenty of moments where he ints and fall shorts as well; they're just getting glazed over here. He arguably cost T1 the 2022 Finals. If it weren't for Faker's Galio play this Worlds, theres a good chance Zeus would've been caught out and killed at the end (despite being told over comms to watch for the other team roaming up), and BLG pushing for the win. At which point people would have pointed and said Zeus inted and cost them the game. But Faker DID come sailing in and saved the game, so people aren't focused on that. Zeus is a strong player, but in order to hit his crazy high ceiling of play, he needs his team to play in a specific way, and with a certain type of shotcalling. T1's style was really good for him. Remember back when Faker was out due to injury? Zeus could arguably be one of, if not the worst players on the team during that time. It's possible he meshes with HLE, but its equally possible he clashes with another team's style and can't play to his skill ceiling. People are being dramatic right now because we are all upset that ZOFGK got broken apart. But if you take a moment to sit back and think on it, Doran really is a strong top laner, and he has been a force to be reckoned with domestically (reminder that LCK is the most competitive region). What will be interesting is that whilst T1 typically shines the brightest at internationals, Doran does famously struggle on that stage. But it is still possible that the steadiness T1 and its members provide could help Doran gain a new sense of calm on the big stage. He hasn't been in a team quite like T1 before; and it was his dream to play with Faker once upon a time (theres an old GenG video he said that in). Maybe he steels himself now that he's gotten that chance. People act like players can't still grow if they've been around a few years; but I believe anyone at any age has the capacity to gain courage and grow themselves. Maybe a different environment with T1 will help him do that. Am I coping a lil bit here? Haha, yeahhh! I won't deny it. But I also DO wholeheartedly believe in what I am saying too! Am I worried? Absolutely. But I'm not ready to throw in the towel for T1 yet just based on this. T1 Fighting! Doran Fighting!

I'm so disappointed in him. Yes the money is better elsewhere but you're with the team for 3 years and went to worlds in all of them. Why leave T1 which are monsters at worlds, guaranteed in the top 3 in LCK. I wouldn't be surprised if the one managing his contract is to blame by convincing him. I hate this.

I think it can be a great thing for Doran because he is sitting next to 4 world champions and arguably the goat of LoL esport. Doran issue is outside of the LCK and what if T1 helps him to get over that issue we might be able to see a new version of Doran. Rememeber SKT days? We have seen such moves already, but as long Faker is wearing that T1 jersey anything can happend. Lets wait and see they play against HLE and GenG in 2 weeks.
