Just bought the OZ9 this past Monday and it also came with 2lb and 3lb striker springs for trigger inside that pouch. That was a bit of a surprise. I plan to shoot it this weekend.
@P3Tactical3 жыл бұрын
Just leave the lighter striker springs in the box unless its a competition gun you are tuning to work with a particular primer all the time. As soon as you lighten the striker spring (in any gun), you are significantly increasing the chance of regular failures to fire with harder primers.

I have both, the shadow shoots nicer, as in straighter and softer. At least for me. The zev looks nicer but the mr918 shoots nicer. Just my opinion. About 2k rounds through each of them.

First off thanks for taking the time putting out this video for us. On the version with the bushnell pattern, do you know if zev puts out different plates for different optic patterns? Or is that slide stuck with just the bushnell?
@P3Tactical3 жыл бұрын
All zev slides are direct milled using their proprietary cut which uses thread bosses which fit up inside of the optic body. In my opinion this is the superior optic cut on the market, and is now being licensed by C&H precision as well. But this does mean that the slide is locked into a particular optic footprint. I would strongly advise against getting the bushnell pattern.

What kind of mag extension are you running that is compatible with the ZEV mag well? And is the OZ9 compatible with all Glock holsters?
@traeucity60875 жыл бұрын
It's hard to trust a guy who prefers P Mags over Glock mags in a Glock.
@P3Tactical5 жыл бұрын
To each his own I guess. For the record I don't believe I said I prefer Pmags, just that I run them a lot. The reason I've run them is very simple, price. If I want a hi-cap mag (21-22 rounds), I have two basic options. I can buy a Glock 17 rounder for like $25, and then add a basepad like the Zev for like $30, for a total of $55 per magazine. OR I can just buy a 21 round pmag for like $17. I like to have a bunch of mags loaded up for classes and range days so that difference adds up real quick. If price is no object I do prefer glock mags with basepads for two reasons, easier to identify exactly how many rounds are loaded, and the weight of the basepads helps them drop free when empty a little bit easier. However, I've run about 15k rounds all through pmags over the last year with literally zero malfunctions or issues that could be attributed to the mags. So in my personal experience there is absolutely nothing wrong with them.

P3 Tactical - So with all the aftermarket available, why PMags? I get they’re cheaper and come in more convenient sizes, but so do ETS Mags and they were nice enough to make the magazine a witness hole instead of being cheap and cutting just 1 at the bottom.

Does the Trijicon SRO co-witness with the sights like the RMR does, or do you have to add suppressor sights for it?
@22BStan4 жыл бұрын
neither co witness on this without suppressor height sights.
@P3Tactical4 жыл бұрын
The cools thing about the Zev slides is that they have an extremely low cut in the slide, which does in fact make the factory sights usable through the RMR or SRO. Its not a standard co-witness, but you can get a usable alignment of the front post with the rear notch usign standard height sights.

Have youn had any issues with this gun i have seen reports
@P3Tactical5 жыл бұрын
All the reports I'm aware of are relating to a limited run of trigger components that was messed up by a third party vendor. That run was recalled back in October. I've seen no reports of problems with guns outside of that run or with new guns since. I personally am at about 4k rounds through the gun so far without a single malfunction of any kind. For the most part, all the fire control parts are built on the Glock platform, and are Zev parts that have been performing very well for a very long time.

The ZEV OZ9 is a good gun and shoots very well. Now the mags (PMAGS) that come with it suck. I got one 3 days ago and it jammed. I even tried an older PMAG and it jammed as well. I used FMJ and duty ammo. I tried GLOCK mags and it shot flawlessly. I contacted ZEV and their solution was to send in the gun so it can be checked or send in the mags so they can send me 2 more PMAGS. I posted a review yesterday and it still is not showing up.
@P3Tactical4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and that's good to know. I personally have been putting a minimum of 1k rounds per month through a combination of 15, 17 and 21 round pmags with no issues for about 2 years. For my information can you clarify what you mean by a jam? That isn't a real malfunction. Thanks.

You should watch my actual review. As I explain in that I really don't believe its possible to buy a glock and perform all the same modifications to it for less money. Even if you did that, it's still impossible to modify a glock to where it is steel framed with interchangeable grip modules. Now with that said it entirely possible that it's still not worth the price to you. In which case you can just buy a stock gun and be totally fine.

Watch Sean Havoks video, zev pistol is a dangerous, overpriced piece of crap that fires on its own !
@P3Tactical4 жыл бұрын
No clue who that is or why we should trust his opinion, but I have seen the video, and yes Zev did have manufacturing defect with a trigger component on a limited run last year. All those guns have been replaced. I'm personally about 7,000 rounds through the OZ9 with zero issues, and I haven't heard of any issues from anybody out there since. When you talk to guys that actually shoot a lot you will find that we've seen lemons from almost every product out there, and anything out there can break. I just got a safety recall email from Daniel Defense this morning, but I still put them out there as some of the best AR's available. Regardless, I would just be careful about taking a single anecdotal data point and assuming its true for an entire product line. I guarantee there's a KZbin video out there somewhere showing an issue with whatever your gun of choice is. As far as the price goes, you certainly can buy a stock Glock for $500 and be totally fine. However, for this gun is, it is definitely not overprice. Buying a Glock and sending it off to have all the work done to it that comes with the OZ9 could easily cost you $2k, and you still wouldn't have some of the features from the OZ9. With our discount code the OZ9 standard run about $1461. Is it worth it for everyone? Probably not. But if you want a performance pistol with the features of the OZ9 and the reliability of the Glock that is 100% ready to go right out of the box, then yeah its worth it.

After watching Sean havoks video I’m 2nd guessing buying a zev glock.
