Thanks for sharing the history of India's cast system. It is very fascinating but should not be applied to anyone anywhere. We are human and should be treated equally regardless of color, gender, economic status, religion and cultural background.
我同意你說在印度的華人無種姓,至少沒有文字意義上的種姓。但很多早期移民到印度的華人,都從事皮革業,是否有某種意義呢? 你說到那些黑婆羅門karabrahman, 他們的土語是不是dravidian? Such as Tamil? 據稱dravidian 是亞非語和阿尔泰語的結合, kara在阿爾泰語系中一般是黑的意思!

Too bad Indians have given up on the Buddha's dhamma, which teaches followers to treat everyone with kindness and respect. Buddhists rejected the idea of caste. Buddhism was basically wiped out in India around 1,200 CE and had to be "re-discovered" by the colonial British scholars. Are you familiar with the life of Dr. Ambhakka? On 14 October 1956, Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, took a life-altering decision. The Dalit leader decided to quit Hinduism and take up Buddhism, along with close to 3,65,000 of his followers, in Nagpur. Wonder how many Indians consider Buddhism their religion today?

@@印度小哥長江 The Buddha was a "revolutionary thinker" some 2,500 years ago. His teaching was a complete departure from Brahmin ideology. Of course there are terminologies and ideas that look similar, but not in the core doctrine. Suggest professor Huston Smith's classic text: The Religions of Man (renamed World's religions.) For in-depth study, professor AK Warder's scholarly "Indian Buddhism". Or talks by contemporary masters such as Ajahn Brahm & Ajahn Brahmali (they are Buddhist monks residing in Perth, Australia.)
