This is an excellent discussion of important historical events which bear far-reaching implications for our times, especially as we look at developments in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Clear analysis of the origin of Chiang's KMT and Chinese Communist Party being of one and the same. Sadly, the seeds of tyranny were spread and we are seeing them bear (bitter) fruit, albeit much disguised in some manifestations, and not just in Asia. Europe and the US are undergoing changes before our eyes.

It is so important that Prof. Chen continue to educate us, so we can build a better society and nation!
It was governor Chen Yi's plot to refuse the government army to garrison in Taiwan. Chen Yi killed the Fujian head of Dai Li's agents. The governor and the government policing department were feuds from day one in Taiwan.
The UN Charter made it very clear that ALL COLONIAL RULES must be ended after WW2. Taiwan was Japan's colony before the end of WW2. Taiwan must follow the spirit of the UN Charter. However, both ROC (in Taiwan) and PRC took the risk AGAINST the UN and insisted on 'recovering' Taiwan after WW2. That's WHY neither the ROC nor the PRC was invited to the Peace Treaty with Japan Conference in 1951. The 'aim' of WW2 was a FREE WORLD. Taiwan could not be an exception!
Taiwan communist founders were originally with the mainland communists in Shanghai University in the 1920-1921 years. Then Comintern enforced the rule of one communist party in one country or colony state. Taiwan communists then were subject to the Japanese communists' control. This is the case with Xie Xuehong. But Xie was from Shanghai University.
