Actually this is the green lion, also known as fighting lion, a symbol to rebel against the Qing dynasty. Qing in chinese sounded similar to green. Therefore there was a hidden message those days during the Qing dynasty period. Coincidentally, the green lion started from southern China, and Therefore performed by mostly Hokkien.
