XY is THE MOST CLUELESS and INSENSITIVE here. FFB is XL, the latter can imitate faces and FFB is one of them. It’s through FFB’s persona that XL can freely express himself. And be in the normal human world. But both XL and XY knew their feelings for each other-they can’t be together so it’s unrequited love for her and a restrained love for him because XL and Cang Xuan are enemies.

Xiang Liu also knows about Xiao Yao’s parents history. Her biological father(also a demon)and her mom chose to love each other and it ended up in tragedy. Xiang Liu doesn’t want that for Xiao Yao.

I just wished Xiang Liu would have been honest with Xiao Yao and expressed the truth that they both have feelings, but know that their relationship is not fated due to their families and bloodline and it is for the best that they not to see each other anymore. They both know this anyway and will understand as they are both logical. By denying Xiao Yao the truth, I'm not sure if this is the best thing.

@@Chezay586 Love is complicated. This is just a series anyway, but I’m sure it isn’t too far from reality when it comes to love matter. Maybe it explains why we care so much about Xiang Liu and Xiao Yao or the other couples on the series. I say this because in the reality if two people are in love and then they confess to each other, it is very much unlikely they would just use all the reasons to go against their love and deny to form a love relationship together. We can see in the case of Xiao Yao’s parents. Love makes one blinded as we always said. Xiang Liu was probably afraid of an unknown outcome if he would confess. So, he just find the reasons to suppress his love. He knows that the next best thing for Xiao Yao is Tusan Jing. So, why not encourage it…

@@Makemyownmind I agree with your thoughts on this love entanglements. Although this xenxia is not existing because of the absence of its reality, it’s actually nice to encounter such a series. XL is the happy-pitiful despite not know love before, he found sacrificial love isn’t bad at all, just to make her secret love happy and be with the man she truly loves. CX is the resentful-pitiful because of his obsession, he made XY hate him to the core. The once very close ‘sibling’ love became a thorn and lethal. I wonder what happened to the ever jealous empress??? I knew she attempted to harm XY in the woods but XL saved her. CX learned about the attempt but I am curious to know what’s her end, do you know?
