Thank you for making this video! I want to learn the koto but English resources for learning it (like restringing the koto) are scarce on the internet. This video was very easy to understand even for a non Japanese speaker like myself. :)

@@teruteruworld Thank you very much! I will try my best and practice everyday!! :D
This is a very useful video for me, because I am going to attempt to make a koto, and if I run out of time I will make it into an ichigenkin (in english "one-stringed zither" it seems rare so maybe it is hard to find without the kanji) in the same style as a koto and add more strings as I have time and money. I will probably have to use nylon strings, sadly. what have you used in place of the bycicle rubber before or have you always had it? If you answered my questions I would appreciate it a lot, but the very existence of this video is helpful still.

Thank you for your message and watch my video. I learned "ito-shime" from my shi-shyo(master). He told me that go to bycicle shop and get the rubber, at first. So I use it from the beginning. Some one buy it at a construction shop. ichigenkin is great instrument. Maybe different about how to ito-shime from koto 13 strings. I hope my video help your music life. thank you.

My koto is not in a right tension,,its wabling sounds What is the right tension of the strings???

Thank you for your massage and watching my video. The right tension …it’s very difficult problem. As a guide,If you play silk strings without standing the “ji”, it's better to make a “H”or “B” sound. In the case of Tetron、”F”or “E”sound. You try it!
