Hi 👋 As a Taiwanese Canadian I would like to welcome you to Canada 🤗. Another way for gaining local experience is by volunteering, such as local food bank, shelter home and so on. My suggestion is find a job and in the spare time do some volunteering work, by doing so you gain more local experience and at the same time you increase your work network. Good luck and wish you all the best 🤗🤗

Thank you for your useful advice, I’m actually considering these kind of approaches recently. Do you have any platforms or groups recommended? Where I can find the information

Yes, now, I work for Seattle government job, to build /remodel City shelter house and provide shelter/ house to low income family / single mother and refugees. Taiwan city also needs to build more social low income house for young kids at Taipei city for free stay, too.

@@awenincanada I think you may ask the local churches, some churches cooperate with the government to help/serve the homeless and pregnant teens, and of course you may ask the government directly but I guess you need to spend a lot of time to find the key person 😅 but the Christian will be more friendly and willing to help😊

Visit local community centres or public libraries. You might be able to find volunteers opportunities. Make sure you ask people who work there.
