Talent wise ZJK is above Ma Long. But he lacked the discipline and dedication. If he puts his heart solely on TT, we probably wont be talking about Ma Long as the GOAT, there would have been a great rivalry betwen them just like WLQ and Ma Lin..

Zjk lacked the discipline and dedication? How could he had spent 2 years setback returning the local team, lagging behind his peers, getting into the starting lineup to receive all kinds of resources much later, but achieving success a few years earlier than others? Is only talent enough?

Zjk was born with a fractured lumbar spine. At the age of 14 or 15, he was informed that he could play for another 5 years by doctor. In 2016 Rio, his injury was already very serious. Retiring at the age of 30 is very ok.

@@botao4456 hmmm... ZJK was the fastest player to achieve grand slam in Men's Singles, even faster than Liu Guo Liang. He has a wider range of techniques compare to his peers, his Backhand literally revolutionized the game. Dont take my word for it, google Liu Guoliang opinion on ZJK talent.

If ZJK didnt get expelled from the national team because of his lack of discipline, we would see him much earlier on the international scene, and he would have reach greater heights. He also lacks drive to achieve more after he completed the grand slam (this is why i said he also lacks dedication).
