I’m American and I still get shocked. Maybe 17, but definitely not 13. Also, most kids in America are super secretive. Their parents would definitely not allow it. That’s why they get crazy in college.
@emiv5926 жыл бұрын
Katherine Rochester I mean, 13 year olds probably wouldn't do anything. I think that parents also just like to know who their child is with so that they can be sure they are safe. It's just basically a sleepover. This doesn't mean there aren't any rules, they just keep an eye on you
@SK-fy8dl4 жыл бұрын
@@emiv592 Things could happen though. Julian's mom said they slept in Julian's room. In the US I think parents know what their kids are doing, and are fine with it, but I don't think sleepovers are common.

I didn't know it was that much of a culture shock, especially in America i thought you were more open on this. But i think bringing your boyfriend/girlfriend back home is quite normal in Northern and Central Europe. I'm french and my parents were always ok with me bringing my boyfriend home. Maybe european parents trust their children more
@DinTsai6 жыл бұрын

I grew up in a South American household and my culture is very conservative on topics like this. It's because there's still a stigma that girls shouldn't have premarital intercourse. My parents don't let me sleep over at a friend's house if they have a brother or another older male in the house.

People getting shocked about our culture but I'm glad that I've got such a beautiful culture. Marriage in Nepal is taken as a pure relationship that is done with the promise a couple live their whole together with a trust, help and in Nepal marriage is not only about 2 people it's about two families. So, making boyfriend or girlfriend is okay but sleeping together won't be allowed. Coz your body is not for playing like toys. In relationship feeling are involved so hurting someone is not a good thing for me. I'm not saying that others culture is bad it's their choice but I just love my culture.

It's possible in Korea bringing your girlfriend/boyfriend to home and sleep. But usually it happens when they dated quite some time(at least 2 years), or they're in a serious relationship even considering about marriage. But most of the Korean parents(especially who has daughter)won't let them sleep in same room.

That discussion was so akward, i admire Yuan for playing all this time with his bread because i understand that he did it not only because he felt akward but more because his Chinese morals forbade him to argue on the matter and subsequently insult his hosts.

i think its to know their children partners well regardless they stay longer or changing again. for me, the rational of bringing ur partner home before marriage is to see how your partner lives..even better with parents at home because that is their real behaviour. like, you know, we can be fake outside but once we are in our comfortable zone, the home..our true self come out. so yeah its a good thing for me. ignore other people talking bout you. its not they are the one you will be marrying.

i live in Belgium too, they don't do anything dirty. That's a part of why the parents accept, to be sure that everything is ok and that they're not doing anything wrong at their young age (for the walls part it's quite false, you can hear a lot of things). Usually they come to check if you're sleeping (they don't care if you're faking it and are actually talking. It's for you to know that they're there).
