Hey can you tell me what cable you use from the camera to the gimbal? i don't seem to have got a nikon cable with my crane 2, just got the follow focus but cant use the record button on the gimbal to stop and start.

Trying to figure out whether to get the Crane 2 (without follow focus) or this one with. Surely those same pull focus shots would have been achievable using the auto focus feature on the lcd screen of either a Canon or Nikon camera? I'm not convinced of the need for such a complex system on a gimbal?

I have a big problem that i cannot fix no matter what i do to my crane 2 servo follow focus. I've done everything in the book to try and get the servo to work but nothing. Nothing at all. I charged it till it was fully charged, 4 blinks of yellow on the left side led. I updated both my gimbal and the servo to 1.73 firmwares. Nothing....no response in my servo. I swtiched between handle and external settings in the priority menu as well. I even tried ALL other firmware updates on both products. still nothing. Ive done over 5 hours of research online for the correct firmware updates for the servo, but your website doesn't even have servo firmware updates available. I try to move the gears of my servo with my hand to atleast get some movement but it doesnt budge when the gimbal is powered on. If theres anything i missed that would make my servo actually work, please let me know. Thank you!

Think I'm leaning more towards the crane plus. Don't see the point in having follow focus on a gimbal system, unless your'e planning to do some complex shots. Test shot on this I guess was to show that focus pulling works, but could have got the same shot hand held or with shoulder mount.

Hey, thanks for the Video. Apparently you are the only one on at least youtube to own a unit of this system. Do you by any chance know if the motor and remote (which is sold seperatly) work without being used with the Crane 2? I was wondering if I could use this system for my shouldercam setup.

Michael Neumann Good question mate. I don’t know for certain sorry. I assume not as the FF unit connects to the gimbal cia cable and the remote connects to the gimbal via Bluetooth. That’s my understanding anyway.

Very nice and quick review. I've got some question: Would the unit move faster/slower along with your hand's speed? Do you experience any lag?

Phi Phan yes it does. The faster you move the dial the faster the focus shifts. No lag that I can detect although my testing is still early, more to test.

It doesn't work. I'm using A7s2 (well, camera model is not relevant anyway), I connect the servo follow focus as required, turn the wheel and nothing happens. I tried firmware versions 1.71 and 1.72. Anyone has the same problem?

Have you enabled the FF in the Crane 2 menu?

Hey man! Great stuff! I received my servo today and I guess I need the firmware update too for my Crane 2. Could you describe what the LED's do on the Servo, when you power it on? How do you charge the servo? Is the USB connection to the camera necessary for the follow focus to work with a Nikon camera? Did you do a firmware upgrade on the Servo itself? It would be great if you could send me the beta firmware to [e-mail] Keep up the good work man!

Hey mate. Thanks! Yellow LED flashes when its turned on. Number of flashes depends on battery charge. I charged the servo using the charge cable that came with the Crane 2. I don’t have a cable running from servo to camera, no need as I shoot Nikon. No firmware update for the servo yet although I have asked Zhiyun about it.
