Zhiyun Crane-M | 3-Axis Gimbal

I just got a Zhiyun crane a few days ago, and so far its super nice sompared to the Beholder MS1 I used before.

You mentioned "keep under weight limit" several times but I'm 99% certain that Nikon D3200 + lens weighs more than the 650g weight limit (the D3200 + plastic kit lens weighs 770g).

The body is 455g and he used the 35mm lens which is 198g. It comes out to a total of 653g but since it was just a hair over the limit, he was lucky and able to get away with it. I'm sure he's telling viewers to "keep it under the weight limit" to guarantee that it works. You don't want to buy an expensive gimbal and just hope that your camera setup will work with it. It's best to do the math and make sure.

Hello. I saw you put the D3200. But I am very sceptical. The weight limit is 650g ans just the D3200 without lens is 505g. You can find a 145g lens? And if you are at the limit does it work well?

I have the D5100 and the 35mm and for all the weight is 850g.

No way, 850g is too heavy for the this gimbal motor, an extra 50g or so will do but not 200g more than the rated payload.

there is zhiyun for dslr that can support 1200g. Yours maybe the smartphone version, for less weight.

It's disappointing that GoPro changed their form factor. I have an awesome gimbal in hand. I'm thinking that I will get a 4 black and some extra batteries instead up upgrading to the 5.

They came out with an adaptor for the rider M when the hero session came out, I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with one for the hero 5

Is the pan and tilt speed adjustable? I used to have the Beholder DS1 and it's a pain to use. Bad vibrations. Each time u change mode, it gives an annoying sound. Pan & tilt speed is too fast etc. Although sound and pan/tilt speed can be adjusted using a software download, it's not easy to configure. I wonder if the Crane-M is any better?

Liked the video! Just one question. The Zhiyun Crane-M is capable of a maximum weight limit of 1.43lbs. Did the gimbal have any issues with your Nikon 3200 & 18-70mm lens combo (~ 2.56lbs)?

Max I could get on it was the 3200 and a 35 mm, anything bigger and the gimbal could not handle fast movements

Actually, it's 773g when you include the battery and kit lens. (Wanted to make sure others don't get misinformed) The Nikon D3200 body (battery not included) is 455g and the Nikon 35mm 1.8 lens (I'm assuming that's what he used) is 198g. That comes out to a total weight of 653g which is only 3g over the weight limit.

+Jan Bert Rijnberk it might, it would depend on how big your camcorder is. I use it with a sony RX100 and it is amazing. The only problem with the camcorder might be how long it is. It may not fit in the gimbal properly

+Arming Gaming maybe with a small lens, check the max wight of the gimbal vs your camera and lens and battery. Thr gimbal should be good to about 650g

Hi, if anybody can help in this.... I recently just bought my Zhiyun crane. Just turned a month with it. I went to calibrate it cause the roll axis was off a bit. When I plugged it in the computer the app crashed mid way into calibration and now it doesn't work. I turn it on and doesn't want to move or connect to the computer.

RMC the main difference is payload. Crane has a payload from 350g to 1800g. other difference you could refer to our official website. For dslr only Crane can carry.

The Nikon D7500 Body with a battery is 720g. So even if you miraculously recorded without a lens, the gimbal wouldn't work with it, sadly.
