I suggest once you have the gimbal balanced as described in this video, you also check the balance in the underslung position. For me (EOS R, 50mm prime) the gimbal was not quite balanced in the underslung position. After balancing it there, it remained balanced in the upright position.

Tanks for the great walk through! Yesterday I picked up a Ronin SC for my Sony A7III with Tamron 28-75mm lens. The entire rig with a Rode microphone attached weighs just over 3 lbs. This is well short of the 2kg (4.4 lbs) stated capacity. The Ronin worked ok at first but I started noticing it would lose control of the camera and flop around. I tried multiple balancing procedures and the auto tune. It would check out ok and then continue to not perform well. Today I returned the Ronin and picked up the Weebill-S. Wow! I'm so glad I made the switch. I got it setup in 20 minutes and was able to shoot a few hours of footage. I have almost no gimbal experience and I feel like I got some great shots. If you have a heavier camera and lens combo, you can't go wrong with the Weebill!

The first thing you need to do is making sure your camera and lens are on the compatibility list. If you have already got your gimbal, please follow the user guide to setup your gimbal.

One thing to note when you're screwing it in, make sure you screw it into the plate where it says zero as there are tiny grooves for the screw to fit into. If you try do it anywhere else you will be fiddling around or ages

Great video. Haven't used DSLR type cameras with this type of gimbal so my question is - once you have the gimbal balanced for a camera/lens combo, when you remove it, can you put it back on the gimbal as is or do you have to re-balance it every time for the same rig?

If you don't remove the quick release plate from the camera and don't fiddle with it, then you won't need rebalancing.

Hi Bret, Please can you advise me on what cable I need to connect my Sony A7RiVa to a Weebill S, Someone told me what I needed was a Micro USB to a multi USB, but I think they got confused with an older model as my camera and the Weebill S do not have a Micro USB only Multi USB connections and USB connections. Thank you for this helpful video. I love my Weebill-s but every now and then it somehow goes into what seems to be a SLEEP mode showing a couple of letters "Z... Z" on the little handle screen. I cannot figure out how to wake it back up unless I shut the gimbal off with the power button and start over. Do you know a better way to wake this up when the Z's are showing?

USEFUL NOTE : When using the Nikon Z50, it is better to use the SMALL Plate directly on the camera rather than the huge plate supplied, (which keeps shifting all the time & throwing off the fine balance of the Zhiyun Weebill. At 1:50 you show the screw going easily into the slot. Mine does not! I've used a vice and screwdriver, fiddling for quite some time, and am afraid if I use any more force I will damage the unit. Am I supposed to get out some power tools to get my Weebill S to work!? Is there a trick that I'm missing that you have not shared with us? I believe the slot on my unit is slightly undersized, so I may need take a file to it, or just return the unit. So far, I'm not impressed.

OK, like others below I did find other videos that are MUCH better at explaining the set-up for a first-time gimbal user like myself. They include things like how to get the mounting screw into the slot, how the mounting plate separates, how to slide the holder out to mount the camera, etc all BEFORE you can do what the dude says here. Zhiyun should be embarrassed and not consider this a how-to video. Here is the one I watched. I am not connected any way with this person. !! Be aware before buying weebil-s that you won’t be able to lock pan while shooting if you need to shoot only vertical movements (hardware button locks will show error axis in several seconds) !! I hate that there are no such functionality and will never know about that until you buy it. My next gimbal will be of other brand, that’s for sure

When using the rizer plate, the camera is always top heavy. Tilt axis is already at its lowest position, so I can't balance that axis perfectly... Is there any way to add more weight to the bottom so the tilt axis can be balanced when it is already set at its lowest position?

Hi, just order the Zhiyun Weebill-S, in fact, somehow a risk because I have non of the DSLR or Mirrorless cameras seen in the list of the presentation video. I use today, the older HDC-SD90, in case it doesn't match the Weebill-S, I will have no other option to buy and that for the first time in my life an camera that is compatible with the Gimbal the Zhiyun Weebill-S. An new camera DSLR/-Mirrorless is planned but I prefer want it give some time. Therefore I will known of the Panasonic camcorder HDC-SD90 will work with the Zhiyun Weebill-S? Note, as I have no experiences with other cameras as what I own, I have look into the smaller camera Sony RX100 M7 200mm. This little camera has good reviews and will be my behaviour an step forward. Hope to get update, will the Panasonic HDC-SD90 work with the Zhiyun Weebill-S.
