i feel like this music video demonstrated the chaotic, fleeting, ever so fragile nature of early adulthood. Throughout the video each person, is doing their best to navigate themselves in a world that is so complex.Yet they still are trying to live an enjoyable life, stay true to themselves, and maintain friendships in a world that attempts to dictate their every move. from the lyrics that repeat "let me live my life." as the two male friends in the backseat lean in for a kiss, in an act that defies the status quo, to the scene that showcased the teen switching off interchangeably with the lollipop(representing innocence) and the cigarette (representing loss of innocence. Death, fights, love, relationships, loss. its all apart of the journey.

i dunno i feel like i understood this way different to everyone but to me it was like willow was the only one truly experiencing life and being present while everyone else was getting themselves into negative situations therefore not surviving the car crash. willow was the only one that survived because she was the only one who was attracting positivity into her life, she was the only one being real while the others were denying themselves therefore resulted in denying their lives... the scene with her meditating was a hint at that too, while everyone else was being 'the typical teen' she explored further parts of herself that eventually saved her life. it's just the law of attraction in motion, all the energy behind their actions and choices catching up to them in one moment

I love the pure simplicity of the love story, how innocently their eyes meet, they are magnetically drawn to one another until in the car they finally touch, and as they come together for their first kiss, the cool guy who himself is in love sees them in the rearview mirror and the freaky nature that we all attribute to gay love mixed with edibles causes a major accident.

Kiara Westley from my perspective, the video is this little time loop where after the accident, everythings starts being a flashback of their lives. The things is, you're supposed to FEEL this video, how things happen when you're a teen/young adult, how they/we try and live by our own terms, experimenting and being reckless and living fast. But at the end of the day, we're all flawed little humans and we do mistakes and try to fix them and heal. Sometimes though, all the time we though we had before us, crashes right in front of our eyes...
