🇨🇳 Zhuhai, China: Hengqin shopping street across from University of Macau: Antique Shop, Restaurants

I've spent one year living in Zhuhai. What a beautiful city. I miss it so much. If possible, explore 横琴镇步行街 Hengqin Town Pedestrian Street. This is where I used to get my haircut. There lots of small shops, noodle places, etc. Also, film in Nanping if you can.

Is that directly across from Macau's Coloane? On the coastline of Hengjin overlooking Coloane in Macau?

I just looked up Nanping, yet another part of Zhuhai that I've yet to visit. :) Not too far away either, I just never heard about it before. :)

@@Sidetracked_in_Macau As much as I loved living in Hengqin because everything there is new and modern. The place was a bit empty, many of the stores were not opened yet. I've heard that more people are about to move in there now. So that can change very soon. But Nanping is where most of the foreigners choose to live. Zhuhai has that small beach town vibe to it. People there are super nice and life is very convenient. I'm gonna try my luck moving back there at some point.

@@Ryan_Powers25 Nanping is mostly popular with expats that live in Hengqin? or it collects them from all over the city? It's more density of shops and such? More established? or also new? I"ll have to go and check it out for sure, you have me very curious about Nanping. :)

One thing I’ve noticed is that cost of living in Zhuhai is significantly lower than Shenzhen, esp when is comes to eating out.

That's a useful observation. I have noticed with that comparison between Hong Kong & Macau, so it is interesting if the same correlation exists between Shenzhen & Zhuhai.

Shenzhen is a city for wealthy people. A simple apartment can cost 1 million US dollars, which is ridiculous.

@@jpfr012 of all places in China, Shenzhen probably has the most stable economy compared to other Chinese cities due to the influx of tourism from Hong Kong. I’m unsure if Zhuhai has the same influx of weekend travelers from Macau but if so, the numbers likely won’t come close compared to Shenzhen. Not sure about the property prices in Zhuhai, but Shenzhen prices are out of this world.

The concentration of people is a few kilometers north of here. This Hengqin area is all very new. :) Not many people yet... :) This is traditionally an island (Hengqin Island) south of Zhuhai city. :) But now it's connected to Taipa, Macau - so many changes are afoot... :)
