He fell madly in love with her very early on and he fell hard, the beautiful Empress who also adored her ( and she adored her too and was extremely loyal to her) told him that he had fallen for her, of course he denied this, she was like no other woman he had ever meet, smart, witty, intelligent, non compliant, she didn’t comform, she didn’t throw herself at him, quiet the opposite and she was beautiful, their eventual relationship was a joy to watch ❤❤

The emperor is a hypocrite, Yinglu wasn't good enough for Fuheng but good enough to become his concubine. How does that make sense? I've watched this series twice and it is one of my favorites.

Wei Yingluo was not fit for Fuheng, precisely because the Emperor wanted her. He was making excuses in his head to keep them apart. Funny thing is, Erqing who the Emperor had said was a good choice for Fuheng, turned out to be just the gold-digging social ladder climbing b*tch that the Emperor accused Wei Yingluo of being -- except that Erqing took it to depths of wickedness that would never even have occurred to our heroine. Hopefully in her next life the b*tch will be reborn as a slug on a rotting tree in a saltwater marsh.

You see, it is this event that makes me a bit annoyed with Hailancha when he informs her of FuHengs death. When he walks away and comes back and asks why she never gave him even a bit of a chance. She was willing to all but k^ll herself doing this punishment because she refused to lie to him by saying that she didn't love him and was trying to use him. She refused and instead took the punishment. For that, I want to punch Hailancha for accusing her of not giving him a chance. How loudly was she supposed to scream that love? It's not like she had free reign of what she could and couldn't do and say. She also wanted to deal with the stuff about her sister and that is easier from a higher position. Yes, she could have chosen love, but to give it up for that, she couldn't. Plus the Emporer was already wanting her and was mad when it came to she and Fuheng, she didn't have limitless choices.

today i dont think we can comprehend the power and authority of an emperor and his court (including the harem). a slave/servant led a tenuous life with the possibility of death a daily risk. even though Yinglou is a fictional character there would have been individuals like her. but she was an exception in many ways who literally got away with murder - but she paid a massive price too. at best Fuheng probably could only take here as a concubine and not his official wife after all she was a servant/slave. i believe he would have done this but the emperor wanted her as his own concubine so that was the end of that. Y and F's love was a virtual impossibility and the emperor sealed it when he ordered the marriage between F and the scheming Erqing. Y loved F but given her status she was limited in what she could do and she would never agree to be a concubine to Fuheng with Erqing as his wife - Erqing would have crucified her. Re Hailancha - its likely he was not fully aware of the emperor's manoeuvres in the background which kept Y separate from Fuheng. Hailancha's comments came from his profound grief at losing his master and friend. he also knew there was affection between Fuheng and Y so could not understand why they could not be together

They shouldn't be..... Both are fictional characters based on women's that did existed but who we don't really know almost nothing about it. They were used at convenience for the purpose of the dramas. They appear in other dramas as well, plus these two dramas are super different they only think they have in common is their number of episodes, their budgets and that historical inspiration, I believe they were done like that on purpose to compete or to be two ways of telling a "same story"

I had to stop with the historical Chinese dramas. The multiple wives and concubines totally ruin any romantic love element in the plots. It gives me a creepy feeling. The ML’s are supposed to be in love with one woman but still make the rounds and sleep with all these others and it’s completely sanctioned. Polygamy has been practiced by some since the beginning of history, but it is unnatural and barbaric, ie, all the scheming, jealousy, murder, power struggles, etc., that went on in the harems. Plural marriage was still practiced in China up into the 20th century. Marriage is hard enough between one man and one woman. Imagine multiple people trying to make it work! The Bible has the right idea.

I love how fierce she can be. Even when in love. Once she decides to turn her back to you after you’ve hurt her, there is no going back. In that she reminded me of Bai Qian from TMPB. For examples: *SPOILERS 🚨* She turned her back to her first love, who became king of the demon realm, after he hurt her. She cut ties with her previous maid, the snake girlie, for what happened with her first fiancé. She only later offered a parting gift as last kindness: the fan to ask for help once. Still cut ties though. She cut ties with Ye Hua and his (their) son when she returned back as high goddess after falling and didn’t hesitate to have her memories of them wiped out. She said I gotta put me first. She was also more than ready to not take Ye Hua back when she got her memories back. Well, the ending for that last one was a bit different, but the initial intention was as the previous examples. Overall i need more FLs like that😭. The pathetic FLs who turn extra weak for love can get tiring after so many. I do love them, but it will be nice to have more backbones. These 2 are the extreme opposite, so I will also love more FLs that have a bit of both sides.
