As someone who is pretty new to the game, sun position is extremely important to me. When there's no blatant metas like Ghana or Mongolia, or it's obviously not Europe, the very first thing I'm checking is: -Road lines -Driving Side -Hemisphere -Vegetation That will narrow down a lot of countries very quickly. Then comes things like car meta, license plates, and road signs/bollards

I was the same way and still am a lot, but man do i get annoyed when the sun lies. Since the sun moves between the tropics on the globe, it can actually appear to be south even in australia. Can never 100% trust it unless its dead north/south and low in the sky imo.

Also the google cam is sometimes unreliable when the sun is high in the sky, just look at the shadows. I see a lot of funky sun stuff around the equator, can't say I have ever seen a south sun in Australia tho

in case it's cloudy and you can't see the sun, satellite dishes are a good alternative way to know the hemisphere

license plates is a big one for me. Recently I guessed right on Kyrgyzstan a couple of times because they have the distinct red stripe on the side. They aren't alone in this but there are plenty of other clues that tell you you're not on the Isle of man or Albania

@5:20 dude i just lost a round because I saw the yellow marks didnt get near the ground. I put Korea, but it was Taiwan. On second look I was looking at street sign poles, but maybe worth a note.

I am very convinced the "all the way to the ground" part is a cargo cult thing that somebody started way back and people just blindly repeat it even if it is only true some of the time (and also I imagine the youtubers who mention it can easily tell korea and taiwan apart so they do not actually rely on that stripe detail, despite repeating it) I also do not like that camera generations and antennas and car colours are included here - the video started off being about stuff that always works and it is intended for new players but new players should absolutely not be learning advanced car metas like antennas since that can change on a whim as google updates coverage and all that time spent learning it will be wasted also funny that short italian license plates in the front is a bit advanced but the iceland car antenna is a must know but I imagine this is just a small oversight in editing and it was hard to fit it into separate videos and it juts ended up being in the same video

I know its late, but here: Chile basically never uses yellow, whereas Argentina is oftentimes gonna have yellow, and usually in Argentina white is only in national parks

Fun addition for beginner regionguessing: if you see placenames around you ending in -ow (like Krakow), go in the southern half / southeastish (which is where Krakow is, so that's easy to remember). If the placenames end with -OwO, go northern half / northwestish.
