Even the defending from likes of Thuram was of a very high level. Zidane of course was like the cream that lubricated the biscuit. Smooth of balance and poise. Zidane at his best. What made him great was the timing in his passes. He would set the opposite team check mate and play the ball at the exact right moment giving lots of space to his team players.
