I was not old enough to go and see Bob Marley when he toured with The Grateful Dead back in the late 1970's......I regret that practically every day because Reggae music and especially Bob's message (and he was guided by the Holy Spirit or other Angelic entity I absolutely know) was and still is my inspiration in life. My existence has largely been a disappointment in many ways after suffering 2 life changing near death experiences that wiped out my hard work and sweat put into my blossoming construction company, Through Bob Marley, I have found a much more important direction for my life. I am now completely dedicated to how i can be used as a tool in some meaningful way to further Bob's agenda of ridding this world of racial intolerance, Hatred, prejudices and evil to the best of my ability. Every day, every moment I understand that my walk thru life, I too am accompanied by the unseen forces that be. I never again have to be disappointed in myself of regret where i am in life. The most high is beside me and taking me places.....That is the force that has me proclaiming this to you now. Put yourself in gods capable hands. He'll take you where your supposed to go.

This song was originally written and performed by the Dallol Reggae Band formed by young Ethiopian brothers who immigrated to the US to launch their music career. They initially performed traditional Ethiopian music but later begun to be drawn to the love of reggae music. Members of the band, Zeleke Gessesse (lead vocalist) and Mulugeta Gessesse (rhythm guitarist) originally wrote the song in Amharic (an official working language of Ethiopia). The song was later translated into English and performed by Ziggy Marley, which later became the opening track in his Grammy winning album 'One Bright Day' released in 1989. In Black My Story, the band can be heard backing Ziggy in Amharic chants: 'tarik bahlachin' (our history, our culture), 'awo awo' (yes, yes), 'yetibeboch mekidim' (the pioneers of civilisations), 'ayzoh ayzoh' (carry on/stay strong), 'andinet behibret' (unity in collaboration), 'awo awo' (yes, yes), 'netsanet kibrachin' (our freedom, our dignity), 'ayzoh ayzoh' (carry on/stay strong). What led to this collaboration was the invitation the band received in 1982 from Rita Marley to perform in Jamaica (Kingston) at the first concert organised to celebrate the birthday of Bob Marley, a year after his passing away. Their performance impressed the audience and the Marley family. The band later performed and toured numerous times with Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers during the 80s and 90s. Dallol band was the official band for Ziggy Marley from 1988 to 1991. Together, they recorded best selling albums, 'Conscious Party' and 'One Bright Day'. Addis Gessesse who managed the Dallol Band also later became the music manager of Ziggy Marley and most of the Marley brothers and including Rita Marley for many years. The strong professional and personal connections that the Dallol band and its members had with the Marley family played a crucial role in the development of Ziggy Marley's and his brothers' music career. This special partnership made it possible to organise the celebration Bob Marley's 60th birthday in Addis Ababa with a theme of 'Africa Unite' concert. 💚💛❤ #OneLove
