Got to say that Jonathan and Mark are setting a high bar here when it comes to community interaction. They're always very forthright open to talking about pretty much anything in regards to the game. I don't want to rag on Blizzard, Bungie or other devs but similar chats held by other companies really feels like some HR rep is sitting in the room, pointing a gun at them so they don't say anything out of line. Everything feels so rigid and scripted... this meanwhile feels so candid and friendly.

A great interview once again. I also really liked the production value, like the camera direction or the teleprompter for Ziggy to not completely tumble down a rabbit hole and so things don't get forgotten. It seems like you had no time constraint either and just went as long as you enjoyed it/ had topics, which gave the chat a very free and welcoming atmosphere. And of course Johnathan and Mark are always a delight to listen to talking about their and our favorite ARPG. I'm especially happy for Mark. Knowing just a glimpse of where he came from when he started working for GGG as an insecure, stage-shy nerd, it's so great to see how much he blossomed into his role as a game director in the last 5 years, now presenting a game rivaling industry titans to an audience on a global scale. To get such a project made and published is a monumental task and takes a lot of grit and determination. Not everyone is cut out for that and I hope he is proud of what he has achieved here.

I think the only thing that worries me is the fact that the "maps" will close on death and you have to move on. I'm more of a casual average player so I feel like that might discourage me on risking things; especially with bosses being harder. Knowing i had portals in poe and could screw up a few times was a nice safety net i guess. Other than that, looking forward on diving in and learning the new game. Although this was very briefly touched on, I feel like what they talked about regarding group play and skill interactions is so much bigger than what people may think. POE is for most people a solo game, but with the skill interactions and how easily you can switch skill gems around you could almost have a group play and solo build it seems. Encouraging players to play together was one of the things that I always thought was such a struggle in POE1, hoping this resolves some of that in POE2.

01:42:14 I LOVE WHATEVER HAS BEEN EXPLAINED BY JONATHAN HERE ABOUT THE MAPING SYSTEM !!!
@dzaijn5 күн бұрын
I think for the full release, there is a solution to somewhat mend the important problem Jonathan discusses around 1:16:00 about support gems and the potential negative reaction of them. Make creation of said support gem unbelievably epic, and the storytelling be such that you instantly understand that this is "The" Multiple Projectiles support gem. There is no way I could ever create that again; maybe because I created it in a tranced state where the knowledge isn't even necessarily my own, I lack the tools, or it is in another way subconsciously understood that I will not be able to create Multiple Projectiles again and I need to treat this gem very preciously. That way it will feel like a blessing that I even have one, rather than the otherwise inevitable sadness over not having two.

Playing PoE 1 since 2011... having over $3k spent in microtransactions, I was really hoping PoE2 would address one problem... partying in Endgame. I feel like this is still an issue, forcing players to solo more than grouping. I say this because they still have the portal system. I always play with my spouse, so that's always two portals down roght at the start. When you have casual friends who wants to play together who are weaker and then mobs get huge buff, you take down 6 portals just at the start of a run and once you make a mistake and die, well, that's it. Very, very punishing. Diablo 4 has a great, great coop system. We enjoyed every bit of how that was implemented. I really hope that GGG, you will make it not so much a solo game and more forgiving to those of us who loves to coop and play games together in a party. Maybe do something like port everyone in party in first without wasting a port... or letting everyone rez eachother to a limited #.... something to be more forgiving to be in a party vs soloing! Hoping more folks feel the same way about causal party grouping endgame content.
@RobertJohanssonRBImGuy6 күн бұрын
its a risk/reward design. so, get better at the game and its mechanics and group play isnt an issue
@pixLclearr5 күн бұрын
@@RobertJohanssonRBImGuy you didn't read what I wrote. As I stated, for casual gamer friends who aren't great at the "game and its mechanics" for endgame, they're stuck. It's essentially unforgiving to party for those new players, even if they stay. Partying just sucks imo. I can solo just fine. I can carry up to an amount with the difficulty with X players in my group with the buff in HP, etc. Still doesn't help that they're noob and can't come in to "learn mechanics" because they're dead even at the beginning before a boss fight actually occurs. I've been playing PoE long enough, and most times either I'll have to carry them as they just sit back because I'll be completing atlas or boss for them, or because they simply don't want to waste a port of mine. As many forums or reviews have already suggested throughout its time, it's definitely a easier "solo" game than coop. Reward still feels better soloing than ever partying in a group due to this setup.
@linemat78873 күн бұрын
Technically they've solved the portal problem. Now solo players have 1 life per map, too. The problem is to balance solo and party play, cuz if party play is too strong solo players like me will get upset. You are saying they are "forcing solo", but what you suggest would "force group play" cuz it'd be more forgiving and powerful than solo. I have no idea how to balance solo/party and I suspect the devs do neither, so that's what we get. I'm glad that at least aurabots seem gone

@@linemat7887 Did not know that! That is interesting to say the least. I know it's always hard to balance things out for sure for solo vs group play. I guess bottom line is there probably is no good way to balance it out, something's always got to give. I guess I'm greedy in always cooping with my spouse, and when friends comes along, newbie friends who like can barely handle T1 (or even when we gear them up to max resist, etc.) has a hard time learning anything because one wipe and they're gone so we just tell them to stay dead or go solo run their own portal maps until they gear up or learn something, lol. But I guess we'll have to wait and see how this works out. I'm just hoping for the best. ps. yay, no more aurabots! I mean, are you really playing if you're just running amock? :P I tried aurabot, and it was the most boring thing to "play", if you call that playing.

Right off the bat, it’s more than enough content. Their early access looks like a complete game

Hey ziggy, i had some net issues with stream with the q&a, was blight mentioned at all?or would you know if its being worked or cut out?
@ZiggyDGaming6 күн бұрын
No blight planned as yet and anoints are being done through delirium. But I hope they reworked the tower defence idea in some way in the future!
@senpuus65866 күн бұрын
@@ZiggyDGaming I kinda figured once i saw delirium had annoints they may just do a full rework/update, heres hoping though. My pc hates blight but my pc can whine and complain all it wants

Path of Exile 2's core mechanics and gameplay are everything I’ve always wanted in an ARPG, but GGG is performing beyond my expectations :)

Man I am so happy that they have embraced console. I have always wanted to get deeper into to Poe but as a console player you are pretty limited because the market is screwed and the flasking is impossible. Now I can get in on ground level with a game that was created with controller in mind and a shared market. This is going to be a long 2 weeks.

Bro I know what you mean, I realised very early that PoE on console was best with SSF. I learned important basic crafting very quickly because I HAD to, shout out to Subtractem. But THIS PoE2 is epic for cross platform.

Should've asked how Chris is doing. We miss Chris!

I keep thinking this same thing. "Hey, where's Chris at?" I enjoy hearing from people like Mark and Jonathan, but I also spent years being invested in hearing Chris too.

How will leveling alts work? Is there a way to skip the campaign after the first playthrough?

I wanted to ask if there is a plan for servers in the middle east. I’ve been playing for years on 120 ping but now some game mechanics like sanctum are unwinnable with that ping.

Very glad I didn't hop on the hype train earlier. I was like "I'll just focus on poe1 until poe2 is the closest release." Now I can hardly wait until the 6th lol.

Oddly enough the best news for me was that you can play endgame without killing a 5 minute boss every map ! That alone finally bumped up my PoE enthousiasm !
