Much much Love...my Father gave me and my siblings this conscious party album, he was not happy about the gangsta rap we were overly consuming my brother and I had saved enough money recently and got some kids older than us to purchase N.W.A album and he was right that raw explicit hardcore music was intoxicating to our virgin ears, he didn't take away our gangsta album, he simply said as he gave us the Ziggy album check out these kids not much older than you are and see if music that glorifying a lifestyle about killing you sounds better than these kids who are talking about living with you and uplifting your spirits...I was certain that this album would be terrible none of my friends were listening to that...but I respected my Dad and we popped it in the player and fell in love with the whole album wasn't long before all of us were singing the songs word for word it was a positive vibe that made you feel good made doing right feel good too we had balance I still listened to rap but with a different ear but rap didn't get much play after discovering Ziggy and the melody makers for me it was life changing and my sister's and brother R.I.P who was murdered gang drug related and the components of gangsta rap all present, If we didn't have that music I don't think that life could have infected our community as a whole the way it did, we could have got along well without the murder anthems...I am glad Iwas introduced those kids not much older than i was back then opened my eyes to see beyond the few blocks of my childhood and check out the world....Bless and continue providing the vibes that put Love over Hate..thanks to my Father and Mother who always taught us to judge character over race and even though they weren't perfect and times got tough we learned that no matter what if we stick together we will make it through and that's what's up!
