Not really specially for diesel. Top of the line creta is comparable more with limited model of the compass. You pay a premium of 7-8L but you get a significantly more powerful engine (115hp compared to 170), significantly advanced suspension with fds, luxury cabin and best safety under 40L compared to worst safety above 15L 🤣 Its more about affordability and less about value. Compass is much much better if you can afford it. Baleno and A class are similar in size. Doesn't mean they are comparable 🤣

More powerful engine v/s not so much. If one thinks it is more important to have a faster touchscreen, air purifier, bigger view of the sky, they can get an iPad, an air purifier and sit at their balcony :)

Yes the Compass is perceptibly more robust-looking in its feel, in its 4x4 avatar it has more robust mechanicals but that's the way its anyway supposed to be. But that doesnt mean the Creta is built poorly. It also has the same set of active and passive safety features, and for the price, it is adequate. If weight were the only criterion, people might as well start driving only trucks or even better still, tanks !

The only point of comparison is the Diesel engine- 170 BHP diesel vs 115 BHP diesel and available 4x4. I think on the petrol side, the Creta DCT 1.4 is a match for the Compass 1.4 DCT. Both cars otherwise seat only 4 adults in comfort and have more or less the same boot space. At 7:06- I honestly couldnt spot any difference in the way the two cars handled. ESP would have kicked in both these cars to sort things out.

Guess you missed some key points: 1. Safety in terms of Crash rating where Creta doesn't come close to Compass 2. Music System where I think Creta wins with Bose 3. You have to fill AdBlue in BS6 Compass after every 2500 kms by yourself thats a big headache, no such problems in the Creta. 4. Service network of Hyundai is much better than Jeep. 5. Compass is in the category of Q3 and X1 in most markets, so there's no comparison with Creta. And if only the price is what matters, then Kia Sonet is better VFM than both.

The premium is worth when you account for the build quality, safety power, 4 by 4 drive terrain, automatic gearbox of the compass. Also, not the to forget the legacy of Jeep. Compass is a lifestyle vehicle and not every one will appreciate the price premium, but those who do, know what they are getting into.

I own a Creta Diesel. I'm sure that if there were rumblers in the middle of that curve... at 65kmph, the creta would have totally lost direction stability. Wonder how the Jeep would have done...

This segment competition has increased after the entry of mg hector and kia seltos if not for the compass I would have definitely chosen the seltos than this creta.... Looks are subjective but jeep and seltos has the looks to go forward.... Nice comparison.... Pointers for Jeep is that they should price this compass aggressively to gain market share from more force competition comming from skoda and vw group In particular......

When I drive the cars, I feel creta (1.4 DCT) is quite smoother than compass. However, compass feels tougher than creta.

I think the rest 3-3.5 lakhs go to the extra 55ps power torque the better suspension setup the powered tail gate doesnt count as much because i think the air purifier on the creta will balance it out. As you said creta has simpler inforainment system in accord with compass but making it simple means cost cutting. Right?
