This Documentary (*ZIKR- TALE OF A MYSTIC*) on the life of Rahim Sahab Sopori is an attempt, to make the past meet the present, for a better future. The roots of the civilization lie in its language and we have to uphold it.

I would like to extend my thanks to my family, friends, people of sopore and all the people who directly or indirectly helped me to create this documentary.
This is all took me two months to create and was my first ever project, a brainchild, on eid-ul-fitar, 2019.
The documentary was scheduled to be released on 5th of august 2019, in the town of sopore, but due to the situation at that time, the same couldn't be completed.
The works such as camera, editing, sound, script, voice over and all are done by me only.
The rabab was recorded at the house of Late Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Patigaroo, Fayaz aale, who very sincerely and lovingly had a hand over me and gave his suggestions which helped to achieve this documentary that shape that it has today.
Although, i have dedicated this documentary to my grandmother, i would also like to dedicate this documentary to Mr. Fayaz Aale, as i loved him deeply.
The script had a lot of help from the book of Mohammad Amin Shakeeb sb.

It is said that Rahim sb was from Hanjishart a village in Handwara where from the family migrated to Ahgam Rajwar and Rahim sb later on moved to Arampora sopore in Mohal e telian were presently his zeyarat is In Hanjishart his living place is still called the Rahim sbn wear and his son Samad shah was also with him

I want to intervene in the conversation to address some casteist remarks made by some of the guests. Whether Hazrat Rahim sahab Sopori was literate or illiterate raises questions about historical documents and is a debatable topic. However, making casteist remarks and labeling others as low-caste or uncivilized undermines the credibility of this documentary. If we look back at our Islamic history, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Hazrat Umar Farooq (Raz) were known to rear domestic animals, yet they are considered the most noble and ideal figures for the entire universe. Believing in casteist remarks reflects a sick and pathetic society. When we look back at the Sufi poets of Kashmir, many of them were illiterate and had no formal education. Whatever knowledge they gained was through the blessings of almighty Allah and the teachings of their masters. Therefore, it is important that we keep our content free of caste and slurs. Why can't a shepherd or animal caretaker become someone noble and respected? Thank you.
