raid 5 ? are you utterly insane ? the moment you have bigger disks than 4tb raid 5 offers no more fault tollerance. you really want zfs on there. neither mdraid not commercial raids will cut it with traditional checksum plates. you can run them as a raid 10 ofc which is usually the better option anyway
