chidhumo was my neighbour for a brief time in mutare,dangamvura...he was busted by police late one night and the police had guns, dogs and everything...the movie style...we were all shocked...he would later escape then got arrested then escape again from chikurubi and by that time he was like a celebrity for us...kkkkk
must have been between 95-97 i cant quite remember but i was young but already in secondary school...so it must be those years
@kingco-bruh72713 жыл бұрын
@@ignatiusmaziofa2393 epic! did you interact with him at all or remember anything else from the time he was your neighbour?
@ignatiusmaziofa23933 жыл бұрын
@@kingco-bruh7271 oh yes, very up close. he opened a tuckshop and people used to get things on credit but he never bothered to follow up. everyone thought he was so generous. looking back in hindsight i think he was just trying to clean his money. another memory i have of him is that he had just bought a camera and he called one of my friends to have a picture taken with him. this boy was well known as a brilliant football player, his name was jefrey ndadzungira. so jefu (as we used to call him) went and sat on the frame of the bicycle (i cant remember if that was his bike or he had just borrowed it from someone, but i think its the latter) and he had a photo taken with chidhumo. we were so jealous of him. back them when we were kids it was special to have a photo taken and for some reason chidhumo picked him. it was strange. i cant really say he picked him because he knew jefu was brilliant football player because he (chidhumo) was knew in the neighbhourhood and he did not know much. any way, to this day we still talk about it when we meet that he had a photo taken with chidhumo, another memory i have of him is that my uncle was a taylor and he used to make clothes at our house. one day after my uncle had finished his work my brother was sitting on my uncle's machine and chidhumo came and wanted to borrow a tape measure and my brother refused to give him saying it was not his. my brother said he gave him a very cold look. well this was more my brother's memory actually. but one thing i remember is that the same cold dead look they show of him in his photos was always his look. i think it was a look of someone who was always on the alert of his surroundings in case he had to run. the night he got busted that i have already referred to, he was with a girlfriend (well, more like prostitute). all i remember is that late at night hearing lots of noises outstide of policeman shouting, dogs barking and a lot of commotion. we woke up and got outside only to find loads of policeman and vehicles. i remember vividly one cop shouting, "urikuda kuuraya imbwa yangu". they had caught him and he was totally naked and he was in cuffs and leg irons and he was being dragged into the police van. at the moment they were about to put him into the van, we heard the sound of guns being made ready and we thoughts the guns had been fired and we all took cover. you have to remember all this happening to people in a small township who have never experienced such drama upclose in their lives. it was scary as it was thrilling. it was then that we knew that our generous neighbor was a wanted bigtime felon. But even then, he had not even become as famous he would later become following the chikurubhi escape. because if i remember well, after they caught him in our town, they put him in the mutare prison and we heard he escaped again. i am told he escaped about twice before the chikurubhi escape. when he escaped from chikubhi, i remember as we watched it on the knews seeing helicopters and smoke (i think they had burnt the grass to try and force him out of hiding), this was all exciting to us almost to a point of actually cheering for him. those are my memories of chidhumo. i can say yes, i saw that cold dead look of his up close.

This article omitted to include Samson Kanderayi. The most prolific serial killer in the history of Zimbabwe! Kanderayi, know as the "axe killer," was responsible for more than 50 murders. When he was arrested in 1982, the ZRP was investigating the murders of 20 people. Kanderayi was to confess to killing more than 50. He took police to the graves of some of his victims which the police were not aware of....This was seen in real time on ztv. Kanderayi curved political slogans on some of his victims to mislead the police to think tht the murders were politically motivated....Kanderayi, whilst in police custody, hung himself.

A lot of terrorism seems to emanate from religion . Many cases of Child sexual abuse also . It is one thing to commit such atrocities out in the street but to do so in the name of God ; and to betray those who come to you for religious guidance just takes it to another level
