Well, Jamaicans are honorary Zimbabweans anyway because Bob Marley's messages through his music helped us win the war of liberation from white supremacist colonialism. That's why we invited him on our Independence day to see the lowering of the British flag and the hoisting of the new Zimbabwean flag. He gifted us a special song which was performed for the first time on that day in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 🇯🇲

@FutureForward01 True. For Zimbabweans, Bob Marley is important and special to them, their memory of the war of liberation, their national independence from the British, their postcolonial national identity, etc. Apart from Bob Marley, a number of Jamaican Rastafarian families, musicians and producers moved and settled in Zimbabwe soon after independence (in the early 80s). They mentored a new generation of young Zimbabwean musicians and played a key role in developing what is now called Zim Dancehall, widely popular among Zimbabwean youths. 🇿🇼 🇯🇲

I am a Jamaican living in the US. Contemplating whether to retire in Jamaica or some country in Africa. (Ghana, The Gambia, etc). Recently, saw your video about Jamaican celebrating independence in Zimbabwe. I really liked that video. In this video, Zimbabwean Marries Jamaican, I saw that Zimbabwe is very modern and developed. This may not be a draw for me because I grew up in Clarendon, Jamaica and the country lived in my later years is more of a draw for me than a big city. I also saw that you were eating at an Asian restaurant, unfortunately, I realize that they have been spreading themselves all over the world, especially in black countries in recent decades. This is a thorn in my side at this time. In the past when I was much younger and unaware, I used to patronize their establishments, however, in recent years I have become enlightened and I would not be supporting their establishments anywhere I go around the world.
@TheMegabushFamily
@TheMegabushFamily Жыл бұрын
Yes, they are in every country even countries us black people think is not good enough, Asians establish themselves in those same countries and make money there while we opt to leave those countries. It really is also a thorn in our side, but we eat the food because we like it 😅😅) I think the problem is not the Asians, but us the people (especially black) who aren’t proud enough of our countries and aren’t patriotic enough to set higher standards for respect when these other races come to do business with us.

@@TheMegabushFamily -I was brought here as a minor, right before Jamaica's violent period started. I went to college and started a family, and started my early life. I had all intentions to return to live in JA when I reached my 50s however, during my early years, Jamaica started a downslide to a super violent period that deter me and many Jamaicans to think differently about returning at that time. Things have not changed very much over the 40 years so many are still working to assist change, (myself), watching, praying, and hoping for a positive change. Recently, a 75-year-old diasporan was bludgeoned to death at a home where she was taking care of an 85-year-old Jamaican citizen. They were both killed. I believe many of these killings of diasporans are intentional by the elites or political class to SCARE AWAY the Diaspora and keep them from returning so that these oligarchs can maintain their stranglehold on the common people and Jamaica.
@jojoyah_1236
@jojoyah_1236 Жыл бұрын
@@TheMegabushFamily Also, I stopped eating their food for MANY, MANY reasons, I will NOT GO into here. One main reason is that the ones in the US are very prejudiced and they exhibit this behavior in many aspects. My daughter in High School had Hispanic, and whites as friends, however, the Asians were NOT friendly, and showed prejudice. The adults are even more ignorant when dealing with them in public spaces. ETC, ETC.

The both of you are such a beautiful couple. I am wishing you both a marriage filled with lots of love and happiness together. Your husband's patios was pretty good. It's much better than my American husband's attempt at patios 😅😅😅, and we've been married for almost 24 years. Continued blessings to you both ❤

Oh lovely! Another intercultural couple ❤️ And together for 20+ years, congratulations! And thanks for watching and sharing who you are with us. Sure you could write a book on becoming one despite the hurdles associated with being from different cultures! You’re also an interracial couple, so even more to overcome (socially) there…but at 20+ years, you’re winning! Hats off to you. How’s it being married to a Jamaican? 😂
