Zimbabwean Restaurant in Durham, NC

On this video I visited another amazing African cuisine in Durham, NC. This restaurant is called Zwellie, named after the restaurant owner name Zwellie. It's located few feet a way from the #Ethiopian restaurant I visited last time Goorsha. The owner of the restaurant made a big surprise for me and brought me a great opportunity to try Zimbabwean cuisine. Starting with the beef samosa soft and flavorful from inside and out every bite was a dream comes true. Filled with the tastiest beef inside and cooked to the right golden color all around (yummy). Moving to the chicken wings which is a mother surprise menu item I took the first bite and I'm kinda oriented my self what flavor I will be expecting from the delicious smell of the baked chicken. Chicken wings was very tender and cooked all the way. I definitely enjoyed every bite of that chicken wings. Next, tried another master piece the oxtail and the broth that comes with it just blow my mind away. The oxtail meat was so tender and tasty cooked to perfection. All the other menu items the baked bean the rice and the African bread was so delicious absolutely no mistake. This was my first time trying Zimbabwean cuisine and I'm amazed by the hospitality and the friendliness of the staff. I will remember this for the rest of my life.

The food looks good! The dishes are rusty . Please invest in utensils and dishes.

its the aesthetic they are going for,most foods on the menu are Zimbabwean Traditional meals, the ones usually had in rural areas and our grandparents prefer metal utensils even if they get rusty , which is what the restaurant is trying to uphold..it somehow makes everything nostalgic

Thank you for the feedback. I have seen similar styles in many places. They have authentic and classic touch . It made me feel more connected with Zimbabwean culture like I’m eating an authentic food made by people know how to make it and serve it. When I visited the restaurant they were so clean as well. food photographers always having a wide selection of these types of dishes because they tell story how our cultures in the past lived.
